It is definitely a "cheers you're welcome" I was in the middle of dealing with the guy that asking about Pine DVD-R, I had never heard of them, looked them up and they are really not good. Guess they go on my "crap" list :-O
"i eat 1200 TYGO1s for lunch in any given month~ :)"
You must use them for duplication or something...
"you are just fine if you just dropped down some $$$ for 1200 of them, i got 1,800 of those in your link last month from supermediastore, i don't see why your purchase would be any different than my own :)"
Yeah it seems to be really great media since I started burning DVD's 2 months ago. Bought the Rima DVD sample pack. All burned fine except for the 2 princo discs. They were junk! The 8x Ritec disk was great at 4x. The other 4 & 8x media was fine at rated speed. Bought some 4x Maxell yellowtops (on sale) from a Walgreens. They were good too (the first couple of discs) so I went back the next day & cleaned the shelf of them. All burned flawlessly. I began liking TY after burning the 4 & 8x discs (of TY) in the sample pack plus the 15 free 8x (TY) discs I got from Discmarket. Yes I'm sold on TY which is why I bought so many of them. Maybe I should go get some more while the supply lasts!
"flawless backups, i keep THESE particular ones at 4x burning speed only just to ensure a steady burn..but, my pioneer can burn these at 8x much like your plextor, i just choose to be on the safe side due to the fact that these are manufacturer rated at 4x."
Yes I'm going to burn these at 4x too plus set my pioneer hard disc DVD recorder (hooked up to the cable) on 4x so it won't try to burn them at 8x.
"i agree with your reasoning though, as to why you would stock up now, i felt the same way you did last month and from various media outlets, got my hands on well over 2,500 TY discs LAST MONTH, also with the intent of "stocking up" as you said."
Oh you didn't think one source (like supermediastore) would have all you wanted to buy? One may have. But then I figure your running a duplication house (instead of being a home user) since you burn so many discs! 25 cents each (sometimes a few cents less) I don't blame you.
actually, it IS for personal home use...i don't own a standalone duplicating setup...but i do own/have built 4 computers for burning dvds :)
i have close to 2,500 dvds in my PERSONAL home collection, been collecting dvds ever since the dvd format became popular. im just an excessive guy, that's about the best explanation i can give for why i buy so many~
anyways, good luck again~ TYs are great and as many on here have stated time and time again...TYs all the way~ :)

I only have one homebuilt computer. A 3.4ghz P4 with 4 gigs of ram & two 300gb hard drives. The hd's hold my entire old time radio collection (downloaded from newsgroups & web sites) that will be burned to DVD's one set per show series. Thats better than keeping all those mixed up (several series per CD) CDR's! I've already burned my music mp3's (from mixed up CD's) onto a few DVD's.

So I guess you make a copy of every DVD you own. Thats ok I suppose. I live alone so I play the original DVD with no copy made unless the disc is out of print which some DVD's are. I have 250 DVD's here, 300 laserdiscs & about 2000 videotapes most of which is SP speed home records off cable. The rest were bought in a store.
"anyways, good luck again~ TYs are great and as many on here have stated time and time again...TYs all the way~ :)"
