how come people have so much trouble with Nero products??
i tend only to Nero when i have to,and thats only when vso's dvixtodvd wont handle the files i require encoding..
there seems to problems everywhere you look,
and then you get a little free app like dvixtodvd, which works perfectly.
from my experience Nero seems to complicate things, always having updates to fix problems
what ever happened to one click and your away!!!!
thats what people need.
check out prassi ones new burning app' for example...very simple and effective
First, Forums are where users go to resolve problems, so naturally that is where you will see a lot of problems being reported. :-)
Of course a few also post success stories, but most do not post success stories, only problems they want resolved. So just seeing a lot of problems being posted about a program does not mean it's a terrible product. (Though there is a good chance it is. :-))
Second, most customers are having trouble with Nero Vision and InCD 4. Some have trouble with Nero Recode, but this was a recent development and most of those issues have been resolved. InCD 4 is being improved daily, and Packet writing is not an easy feature to support, and no one has a packet writing software that does not have issues of corrupted discs or loss data.
Nero 6 Ultra Edition as 14 software programs in it, but you only here issues about Nero Vision and InCD 4 for the most part. And with Nero Vision, we know we are weak in some areas and we are working on it, but we do have a lot of customers who are having great succes with it, and they are seeing none of the problems you are seeing on this and other forums. And a number of the log files I go over for NVE turn out to be issues with the source Video files customers are using. They either have corrupted downloads, corrupted captures, or problems with the codecs used to create the video file. I do testing on all the DVD Authoring programs out there, and all that are as detailed as NeroVision have problems.
There are a lot of 'simple' programs out there that just do some very basic things, and they do them very well without all the hassle you see in Full Blown programs. And I would be surprised if they did not. They have a lot less code and issues to overcome, they can concentrate on specific areas and put all their resources on it.
I've seen this new Prassi software, and for what it does it does it OK. But there are a lot features they are missing, which will cause you to get a software like Nero's.
I quite often use DVD2SVCD for my mpg files , takes a while ... but then anything utilising CCE SP always will I guess.
N.V.E has never been anything more than a headache for myself & I will never suggest it as an encoder , even though I always advise Nero 6 Ultra as a brilliant all rounder :-)
As to the codec being a problem for NVE sometimes , yes ppl/users could at least check if they have the right codecs [on a regular basis] ... using a freebie like 'G-Spot'
Tested Recode 2 , and it seems to be fairly good I must admit , but I have CCE SP ... so recode was just a trial [but as I say v.good at what it does]
Anyway , thanks for help on Nero log de-cyphering of sorts Craig as I've not seen error log of just mixed up text...
