there are a few things you should check for these errors

first make sure you have working ASPI layers installed

second,go to

my comp/local disk/windows/repair....look for autoexec.nt

copy and paste it here

my comp/local disk/windows/system32 folder

and lastly,CD/DVD Gen. is supposed to have 2 error messages pop up after you hit the record button. If you only have one pop up then you are missing a .dll file that you need to install into you system32 folder and system folder in Windows. You can find this file at : http://www.neromediahome.com/us/WNASPI32.DLL.html

I get thru everything just as you have directed, but when i get to the last step on dvd iml2iso, it makes it to step 4 and says a 20049 file cannot be found. Any ideas or answers on what to do to fix this or another way around it? Thanks in advance for your help

Before burning PS2 games.. should you always re-build them? Even the games which do not require to be re-built, is there any harm in re-building them?

No, no reason to rebuild a game unless: 1)Using SwapMagic and the game is bigger than the TOC of SM 2)Game won't play with SwapMagic & you think it needs a rebuild

Yes, click the ISO and right-click extract objects, choose the folder location and then it will start extracting.

@khmercrip,

of course not, the reason u rebuild games are that they are too big to fit on a standard 4.7 gb dvd and don't have a dual layered dvd burner. and using that definition, u should be able to conclude that no, kingdom hearts 2 doesn't need to be rebuilt, because it is only 3.69 gb

well, actually, the main reason you rebuild games is because those that use swapmagic disks, cant load games that have a higher TOC than the swapmagic dvd.
thats why you either rebuild or do a TOC refresh with another original game

to check the disk size, you just put it in the drive and right click on it,and check it from there
anything around 4.37gb is likely to need a rebuild, and a simple search of these forums,or ps2nfo.com will tell you what games need this

oh i get it now any games with a toc higher then swap magic wont work so you gotta make it smaller than the swap magic toc for it to boot right? lol never knew that ae thanx alot :)
as for some games i heard that for some games swap magic cant boot you gotta use the cogswaploader method? will swap magic 3.8 boot the exploit installer disk and i was wondering whats better to boot backups with swap magic or cogswap loader exploit?
thanx :)
