s2k -

the disk is not damaged - I played it with no problem -

I dont understand what you guys are talking about re:anydvd

anydvd specifically says it doesnt remove any copy protection or region codes - it has to be ripped with another proggie before AD will copy it

O I C

ok i understand - thanks

BTW -

my buddy spoke to macrovision about me being able to rip 48% of the dvd - macrovision said they know, there is nothing they can do about it - so i guess it'll be pretty easy to beat (eventually)

@aabbccdd

i use shrink on like 90% of my backups, while i do own dvdcopy3, dvdclone2, etc.etc...i am just more familiar with shrink, so that is what i use flawlessly w/ AnyDVD :)

for my own purposes, shrink is "good enough quality" for my backups, yes, i KNOW there are other programs better for video quality, faster speeds, and many other menu-altering functions, but shrink is just fine for my OWN purposes~ :)

intervideo dvdcopy3 is a terrific program, that is probably what i use for the remaining 10% of my backups when shrink is not used~ :P

Verbatim 8x dvd+r MCC003
Verbatim dvd+r DL (MKM001)= flawless no compression backups

I agree. I use shrink for most burns. Its a good program all in all but it has not been updated in 1 year. It is going to start showing its age in time and is already. DVD rebuilder is really starting to make some progress. It is not as easy dvdshrink but i have to admit i have tried and with dvd's with high compression rates you can't go wrong they do look better.

OK so you you are new to making backups and show by this statement that you donlt understand that a disk with NO copy protection AT ALL and a minor scratch wiill play ok and yet when being copied will do exactly what you report.

you do NOT have a ripguard disk
