it HAS been re-verified..yours are fake, and so are mine...in my PM i stated to you that i asked for a FULL refund from meritline, which they complied..it just hasn't been credited to my account just yet, but, i already got the RMA and returned them...lemme know if you got the PM, it was pretty lengthy and took me some time to compile for you, hope it wasn't deleted :)

you two - it's not possible i got some fakes after all, is it ?, how did you tell yours were fakes...?...

honestly, i would suggest supermediastore, rima :P
in the past from my own experience of purchasing, i have yet to run into fakes from those 2 stores.
shop4tech i received fakes, and just this ONE incident from meritline makes me weary of them now (16x TYs)...but, my 8x TYs in either format have been authentic~ i think the quality control of meritline has gone down as of late, but, like i said, this was a 1 time incident only for 16x TY, the other ones are just fine :)

yours are fine, i assume you mean the TYG02s' u got in UK? it's the 16x TY over here in the U.S. that were shady after i rechecked and verified w/ my representative from TY North America~ :)

found these on e-bay........ in both -r and +r, and they even say they are authentic. but by the time you guys see this, the auction may be over, but i have seen them re-list it after auction expires. i placed a bid, only 10 bucks, (not a bad price) and 12 in shipping, but got out bid by 50 cents. ohwell, i bid again on the one i posted, but the +r not the - ............check em kivory !! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=80135&item...

That looks really sweet, but somehow I don't have faith on Ebay stuff and all. I would say get it at http://www.supermediastore.com/taiyo-yuden-dvd-r-media.html or any online stores that has it on stock. Another thing is to get them at your local Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, K-Mart, etc. and make sure to get the FUJI 8X DVD+R "MIJ", that's the real genuine TY right there. However, if you want to take the chance and do a lil gambling, then feel free to.

well, according to the seller, his facts are somewhat misconstrued~ :)
this is a 50pk of Taiyo Yudens...he states they are dvd-r format; however, the media code he claims on them is for the DVD+R format, i have yet to see a dvd-r w/ the YUDEN000T02 coding~ :) that is where it is fishy...but, his comment about the GG000xxx serial number is correct~ so, they MIGHT be authentic, it's just somewhat shady when you consider he tells you it's dvd-r format, yet, puts up a dvd+r coding for TY~ (right above it i might add).
so, i never recommend buying media off ebay, since you just never know, i will give it to this guy that they are authentic, but his facts are mixed up...YUDEN000T02 coding is NOT for the dvd-r format as he stated, it's for the dvD+R format~
2ndly, $10 plus $12 shipping = $22 total plus tax in CA (assuming nobody outbids you), where i am in, NOT a good price when you consider the authenticity issue. you could just as easily buy them from supermediastore.com and KNOW 100% that they are genuine TYs and they have a fairly good return policy as well w/ supermediastore; i don't know how willing this seller would be on returns IF you DON'T purchase the "optional insurance" that he/she offers~ :)
anyways, i would purchase AT YOUR OWN RISK, i would NOT buy it myself, but, that's just MY own opinion..as i NEVER buy media from ebay, EVER~ :)

Yep.... YUDEN000T02 is for the 8X DVD+R "MIJ" only. I'm 100% totally agree with General kivory on this. So, gear79, your best bet/safest is to go with http://www.supermediastore.com - however, the choice is yours to make. It's your call, your $$dollar$, but think about it alright.

yeah, eBay is great for a lot of things, but i would NEVER buy blank discs from someone on eBay. As the guys have said there's plenty reputable websites to buy from

bestbuy has only been good for 2 things to me...1. dvds (every tues. the new ones are released each week~which i load up on) and 2. blank media (if you know what you are looking for~) :)
the frequent sales for blank media is definitely a plus, BUT, 50% of the time they offer crap on sale~ which is still crap, only cheaper~ :) for example...Memorex..THIS WEEK on sale, still crap, but, less expensive crap~ stay away from this garbage and wait till the Verbs and Fuji go back on sale @bestbuy~ :)

@ kivory........ ya, dont wannna get the rulesw thrown at me either, but yes..... 17 years now, master technician.
anyway, i am gonna hit up the media store and get me a roll, heck, i will even buy my dad one too. my litey seems to like all the media i have thrown at it so far, but i think i will upgrade the burner to a faster one... any suggestions. i have seen good reviews on the pioneer, benQ, plexy (which i think i want that one) even a-open. according to TY, they like these burners, except sony's.

hehe, ironic that i personally use a sony dru-710a for ALL my TY backups~ :) despite what TY states about their media not being compatible with sonys...i think that is untrue~ i have thousands of backups on my sony, pioneer, nec and liteon. while i agree that most people will say Plextor is the best, but, it's pricey, but GREAT quality nevertheless~ i never owned one, so, i wouldn't know, but i have heard nothing but great things from trusted friends that DO use plextor, it really IS that good~
the burners i have are in my sig...if you have questions on any of those, i can offer some suggestions~ TY media is pretty much universally compatible on all makes and models...i really haven't heard of anyone saying, "my burner can play crap like memorex and princo, but hates the HIGH QUALITY stuff like TY~"
