i have xp so when i plug the spider usb it install on it own, but if your running a lower windows then your going to install the drivers for it, and then restart, when writing just leave it is normal, how is it normal, becuase is from spiderchip.com worthless

To everybody thinking about getting a Spider chip, you better think twice! Yeah it's cheap, looks easy to install and it is a solderless chip, but when it comes down to it this is probably the worst chip made for the Xbox.
Here is what you should get instead of the crappy Spider Chip
1) Xecuter 3CE w/ xapter
2) Xenium Ice w/ solderless adapter
3) Xenium S.P.ice w/ solderless adapter
If you can solder, then go w/ these chips
1) Xecuter 3CE
2) DuoX 2 (preferabbly the blue verison, because it is preflashed)
3) Xenium Ice
4) Xenium S.P.ice
5) Alladin XT

I agree, the worst chip ever, might look cool, easy & cheap i'm going to try and sell it and get something else, lol

yeah thanks for the info. i ended up cancellin it and have not even touched the setup. did a restart and now i get the cant recognise error again. even if it is 99% cpu usage leave it be? I will try this for 2 night and will report a some later date.

I forgot to ask when will you know that the spider-chip is done flashing? It has been sitting here for 12hrs.

hi, i have a problem
I have a DuoX 2 Cromwell/Flashbios Edition, I wired everything correctly onto a v1.0 xbox. I then downloaded the doux m8 plus bios which is 256kb, and renamed it to bios and burned it with a 100mb dummy file. I put the disc in the xbox and loaded the flashbois 3.0.3
and clicked load bios from disc and it went through completely (i think)and then it turned off. Ok now I push the power on button the xbox will power on and off and on and off then the power button will start blinking red and yellow. But when i push the eject button it loads normally. Btw i did it on the flashbios on bank 0.
Can anyone help??

OK I have a spider chip installed in a v1.0 xbox. I did as you said and flashed it with X2 4981.06 bios with a blue color mod from #xbins. It flashed correctly and now I get a blue xbox splash logo followed by what seems to be the original dashboard. I want to FTP my box but i have no options like the ones found in the tutorials such as system utils. Am i missing something?

pjp85, go on to #xbins and DL Slayers. Burn Slayers to a quality DVD-R or CD-RW and load on the apps and EvoX to your HD. So then you will have a custom dash on your HD, being Evolution X, so you can FTP into it.
Choose this option after you pop Slayers in your Xbox...
Installs Apps on E: and EvoX on C:
dannyjr89, I will get back to you soon on your question. The bios you flashed your chip w/ may have been faulty, so I am going to give you a link to a download for a reflash CD that you can use. I would give the link to you now, but I am not on my home computer and I forgot the website address.

hi everyone first i let everyone here know im a noob at this stuff. i was p/oed because i thougt i messed up my spiderchip and my xbox i have a spiderchip 1.0b and an xbox 1.0 what i did was unlock my hd like most of us here so i looked for what i saw on this thread but never found it which was the spiderchip reflash cd. if anyone has problems with this then try the evox slayers auto installer disc 2.6 it worked awesome for me. my xbox wouldnt even read games but i burned an image of this to a cdrw and it worked it booted from there you can flash your chip or reflash your chip with the slayers menus the disc contains all the bioses you need to flash what you have also all you have to do to upgrade a hard drive is put it in and build it with the slayers disc so simple i give so much credit to slayers if anyone uses this i bet they will too. hopefully i helped someone with this reply

Hi everyone... I just got the same problem as dannyjr89 does, my DuoX2 won't boot-up correctly with the Evox M8_16 after I flash my DuoX2 with the 256KB version of Evox M8_16. In the original DuoX website (http://www.duomodchip.com/english/install.htm), it says you need need a 512KB bios (ie 2 X 256KB of the same bios since most bios are only 256KB). Not sure what to get 512KB version of 256KB EvoX M8. Can any experience person shine some light on me? Right now, I still can boot up in the original XBox MS_Dash board by press eject button, but my DuoX2's bank0 and bank1 bios don't work anymore. Any help is much appreciated.
