do you want to just save to hard drive, because, after you have re-authored, it will give you the option to save, if not, just add all your edited files and copy to dvd

What I would like to do is put each section of music{ interview free} somewhere I can then burn to DVD using Decrypter. Sorry if I am confusing you, I edit the first bit[I still have 10 more songs to do} question after I edit out interviews where do i put that piece so I can move onto next.

well, its not actually decrypter doing the burning, it will be Nero.
here, try this, see if it sheds some light, its eaiser to see pictures, then to read plain text.

Checked that out and quite familar with process. Now I have DVD I play it in preview window it comes to interview so I end frame there so all I have now is first song, dont worry about next song. Question. the song I now have has to go somewhere so I can burn it later. Once I have "deposited" that song somewhere I start on song no.2 cut out interviews and send that to same file and then back to no.3 etc.........how do I send these to a file and get back to editing next song?

ok, do your editing, then use Nero alone, go to 'make yor own video/dvd, close the tips screen, add video files, from there, you can select each individual file, add them as you go, and follow it to the end (assuming you have the full version of Nero i hope) but after each section you edit, try right clicking, save to where you want it, then using Nero, go there (in the add files) and add what you have saved, compile them all together, and you should be set. at least, thats how i have done mine in the past. i really hope this helps you, i know its frustraiting, took me forever to learn it. but now that i know what your trying to do now, its easier to explain.

Firstly let me say your post with virus scared the s**t out of me. How easy was that, just a simple thing I wasnt doing by dragging each one over to left. There are 16 frames however and it would only let me do 9 the first time and I saved to a file, the remainder saved to a different file now I have another problem for you to solve.,ie how do I get BOTH on one DVD,joined as complete DVD. Hey Gwendoline try Dragging each one over to the left. YEEEAAAAAAAA.

i agree, it is a bit much, but i was searching for the perfect .gif and came across this one. i think i will go back to my bowing skeleton. so i take it you have what you need now? i do recall mentioning, click and drag to the left after you have edited/re-authored..... if it has worked for you, i am glad you got it, if not, did this

well, gwendolin, now that you have a folder, just use Nero alone, go to 'create dvd', 'add files' either one by one, or by folder to compile, then follow those steps, you can create menus, do all kinds of stuff with it, i never do any of it, then when done, click to burn

Oh No, I'm back. I managed to burn edited DVD but things didnt go too smoothly. Upon playing I find there is a gap of several minutes between the two files. Question:1 why could I only do 9 tracks and then remainder in another process. 2. Why such a long gap between files? Still hanging in there.

only thing i can think of is where you edited, there was a gap left, therefore, a gap burned. during your edit, you have the ability to preview and edit. you also have to select from the shrink portion, the 5.1 part, should say something like asc or acs 5.1, tick that and drag to the left.

well, i am glad i was able to help you get what you were after. read afterdawn as often as possible, its a very good site and guide. dont hesitate to use the 'search' options, guides, threads, and asking your own questions. experience is what will make you better. it did take me a while to figure it all out, as no one will master it their first go around. the more you play with it, you will learn more of the program's features, sheeesh... i am still learning.
oh, btw.... yeah, the virus gif was a bit, i did take it off in fear of getting banned, but it was kinda cool. i just learned how to add those to my sig. now i am looking far and wide for more, plus how to make my own.
good luck to you !

@ laurenzo and everyone else ~

I don't know if I'm too late BUT to answer everyone's question about saving the clipped parts of their project to their HD -

Once you've clipped your section using Nero's Recode2 in the "Remake A DVD" Mode - click "finished" to close the import window. Make the edits you wish using the start / End feature -

at the page's bottom-right click "Next."

In the next window, at the top, it says, "Destination." Select "Hard Disc Folder."

NOW, Directly under that window, you'll see another window which says, "Target Folder." Use the "Browse" button and go to your Desktop. On the bottom-left of the "Browse for folder" window is a button which says, "Make New Folder" - click on that button and a new, un-named folder will appear on your desktop. Name folder that for the movie that you're working with.

Now every section you have that you wish to keep, you can give that a different number so that you know where it goes i.e., 1, 2, 3, 4 and so on ~

Back to Nero now, on the bottom-right, click "Burn" and your "saved" clip will go to that folder you just named and be ready for pickup at the very end of your project when you have all the clipped sections ready to be burned to disc.

So sorry, I didn't mean to leave you in a lurch, I just thought the rest of the process was simple enough for you.

My bad.

Maybe you can try it some other time ~

Pete
