Just notice that when the tray tries to close it is hitting that round thing in front of the laser. What would make it do that now?

Put everything back as orginal and still it says "disc read error" Why and how!! This thing played perfect before I tried to install the flip top. What can I do? The plactic disc, which way does it need to face? Does the magnet side need to face toward the plasctic cover?

Got it! Almost! If I put a lot of pressure on the center of the flip top exactly where the plastic disc is it will work. If I take my hand off it stops working. What can I do about it? Tried putting a bunch of tapes on top of ps2 but it didnt work.

Make sure the Screws aren't too loose or too Tight... um someone in another thread suggested putting a piece of cardboard or paper behind the white plastic piece that goes in the top of the flip top.. See if that helps.. It might push the white piece down enough to make the disc spin better

I dont have any screws in it at all. The games load perfect but have to keep a lot of presure on very middle of the flip top plus its making a loud screeching noise constantly. What do you think? Do I needed to be worried about the noise? How can I fix it. I thank all of you for the help!!!!! I put so much paper behind the disc that I barely could even get the disc back in. Should I put even more paper behind it?

Laser may need to be adjusted with the laser fix link I posted... Try
screwing the cover back on but no too tight and see what happens...

At least we are getting somewhere now

Yeah, at least we have made progress. You know more than I do but not sure it would be the laser because when I put the orginal case back on it didnt make the screeching noise. BTW , what exactly is the plastic disc for?

The White Disc Keeps the CD Stable when it's spinning is all...

Noises usually mean the laser is straing or the covers on too tight...
Could be the media you're using.. Kinda hard to say.. It's all trial and error

Tightend the screws and put a book on top of it and the noise is not that bad at all. Hopefully everything will get better.
