It is important not to use the Nero Wizard. It produces mixed results.

Does anyone know how to prevent hangups on main menu screens? I've got a movie where the main menu music plays with a black screen for a minute before the menu appears, although you can make selections while the screen is still black. I'm using dvd decrypter 3.1.5.0, DVD2One 1.1.3, and Nero 5.5.10.20.

I've not had that problem as of yet.
Smartripper 2.41 (sometimes Decrypter3.1.5)
DVD2One v1.1.1
Nero 5.5.9.9
Have you had it happen to at least 2 different DVD back ups...as it might just be a big music file for THAT particular DVD ?

Well, actually so far out of 10 films I used DVD2One for, only "Bring It On" (gotta love cheerleaders even if the film is stupid)had that problem - but I'd like to figure out how to avoid the problem in case it arises again.

I guessed it'd be only THAT particular DVD cos it'll be the size of music file which loops that is giving you your hang time.
One possible solution is to cut out Menu/Extras with DVD2One.
Seeing as your doing a movie I dont know why you've got menu there anyway personally.

There are implementations to do exactly that !!
Plus there is nothing wrong with:
DVD Decrypter ( or SmartRipper )
DVD2One
Nero
!:)

personally I'll keep my DVD2One over DVDShrink any day -- it's much faster. Also if you've kept up with the recent versions you can now join a movie (ex - "Gangs of NY", "LOTR") that was originally split across 2 discs.

Just for the fun of it, using DVDShrink, I pulled 66 (sixty-six) movie trailers off 5 (five) different promotional DVDs, and put 'em ALL on a single blank, and I almost did it with my eyes closed.
Similarly, again using just DVDShrink, I put the three "Back To The Future" movies on a single disc as well. (Quality wasn't the best though). The three movies (on the same disc) played back perfectly, however.

DVD2one works better with CopyToDvd than it does with Nero. DVD2one interfaces with CopyToDvd just as DVD Shrink does with Nero but I think it's a better combo with large type 9 DVDs than is shrink and Nero.

Anyone
I am trying to burn a DVD using Nero 6.3.0.3
I have used Nero Vision Express Se 2 to create a slide show. And have saved it as
"show.nvc" but everytime I try to burn it gives me a message saying:
"Sorry, your compilation cannot be written on this kind of disc, please insert a disc of the correct type or modify the settings of your compilation to make them compatible with the current disc."
I have been using DVD-R and DVD+R discs and both have been wrong. Both are 4x , 4.7GB and 120 MIN. Is there a step I am missing?
Thank you for your time

What are you using to rip and Decrypt with and what encoder/transcoder are you using. You can't just put a disk in and copy it so I'm assuming that you have some other software that you're using as well. Nero express doesn't come with the transcoder called Nero recoder, that's only included in the Ultra version. If you don't understand or have no other software encoders then post back and I will point you in the right direction.

Sophocles,
When you use the CopyToDVD with DVD2One, are you using the default Blindwrite to burn?

The older verions of CopyToDVD didn't include BlindWrite and it worked just fine. BlindWrite is a recen addition to the what is now the CopyToDVD suite.

No problems, still experimenting. I've got the suite. It uses the Blindwrite as the CopyToDVD burner and other burners can be used as options.
