Quote: Liner notes,Sound Quaity is better
What are you talking about, some people share there music from the cd. They rip the cd and put it into the computer and people like me download it. How can it be better quilty if it's from the same cd.

how do u no that. i'm telling you 90%of bittorrent albums are from people just going on p2p and finding the different songs from different places. how do i know....? check the bitrates. noone rips an album on to their pc at 5 different bitrates. Also they may encode it at a lower sounding quality that the 320kbs that produces excellent sound whereas if you have the cd you can do it yourslef. so before you jump the gun, check your facts. i have over 1000 albums & comps and half are bought and half are copied/downloaded. the bought ones have better sound, and also, you can learn about the artists from the liner notes. hence what aabbccdd stated.

ha, your whole take is sad. yes they can be released in flac and other lossless formats, but still couldnt equall to the actual pressing
do yourself a favor and purchase the actual albums/records and see for yourself how the music should sound.
and oh yah, uhh 'support?'

So your trying to tell me ripping cd to computer lose quilty?????? That doesn't make sence. You can copy dvds and rip it to computer without loseing quilty.
let's just say that i download music from someone that ripped from a cd. How can you lose quilty.
If there's no peer to peer i would still not buy cds. I will just borrow from a friend and copy. =)

Go read through the Audio forums. MP3 and most other formats are compressed which means the quality isn't the same as the actual CD. It does make sense. If you want the same quality as the CD itself you have to rip to .WAV but the filesizes are very big so thats why people choose formats like MP3, AAC(MP4), Flac etc. This isnt the place to ask about different qualities.
The same with DVD's. A DVD disc is several Gigabytes in size. You can compress it so it's about 700 megabytes in size. And quality is lost. There are loads of DVD forums on this site. I suggest you visit them like the Audio forums to understand better.

Look what I said above.

Wow who cares. Do that. But I can tell you that buying the actual album from the shop is better than downloading it quality wise but this thread is about people being annoyed about albums they already own getting re-released. You say you don't buy CD's then why are you even here. You can't contribute anything so get out.

1) Do you buy used cd's?
2) If an album you buy has bonus tracks on the european or japanese release but not on the american one do you still buy the american one or do you buy the european/japenese version

that reminds me.
weazel, i have done that .nrg for you. could you send me a pm confirming your msn, because 2 people added me when i last signed on.
thanks,

I don't buy cd's for shit! I can't even remeber the last time I bought a cd, most of my stuff comes on vinyl and vinyl has better remixes than on cd, but if I want a certain track...screw it, im downloading.

Seriously get out of this thread. You obviously have never bought a music album in your life and by the sounds of it you are a complete cheap skate. If you really cant afford to buy music then get a blank cassette tape and record off the radio.

Yes weazel200 i do buy alot of used cds and also use e-bay alot to get cds for cheap so far with no problems ,you can pick up good used music on e-bay anywhere from 4 to 10 bucks and i get used cds at my local record shop for like 3 to 5 bucks they make me a deal since iam a good coustomer.
and yes sometimes i do buy the imports for the bouns tracks but most the time it because of the remastering of the album that i want which are usally imports and some of the imports are very rare so i pick them up ,for example i got a "Bodycount" cd (which is an Ice Tea project from 1992)label hardcore from Japan thats really rare and worth some bucks.it has the song "Cop Killer" on the album

The albums you own which have been re-released do you bother to buy again, somehow obtain a copy off someone or buy it used.

usally when there re-released (remastered) i just get the ones that are my fav. bands.because most of the stuff i buy is from the 60s 70s and 80s and the sound quality from the first pressing wasnt that good and the remastered albums sound much better. so i would say yes probably around 20% of the albums i have replaced . i mostly buy new ,some of them i can find used or on e-bay

Lol. No aabbccdd i don't work for a record label. I'm just curious to see what everyone else does when an album they own gets re-released. SO far I haven't bought the same album twice as it's a waste of money in my opinion when there's hundreds if not thosands of albums out there that can be bought.
