That should be about right, The guides posted above work. What type of media are you using? Try a quality DVD-R like Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, or, Ritek. If you can't find those try TDK, Maxell, or Sony. Try burning at 4x, then 8x if that doesn't work. Later.

Yeah I meant dvd, if it was cd then i wouldnt really care if I'd had 100 attempts coz I get em free from work!
Got it to work eventually using the cdvdgenn method, I gave up with Nero, I think it was because Nero would change the file order to alphabetic even though ppl told me this was not the case, Iso buster would still show the files in alphabetic after Nero had burned them.
the cdvdgen program generates the image in the specific order, and worked (see bobs), a bit long winded, but takes less time than 4 attempts with Nero so I'm happy with it.
(Cloots) I had the same problem with the new Nero, the Nero expres is completely different and has replaced burning rom in the new edition, I had to un-install and get an older version, I eventually got Nero 6 ultra version and it worked

just follow my post on page 1 it will work.... all i did was burn to hard drive with DVD Decrypter, open it with isobust and copy the files to a folder on the hard drive... erase the folders that i wrote down and open Nero and place the files back in the same order ( they wont show in the order in Nero cause its alphabetical) but burn it and it should work fine...

Yeah Nero express and Nero burning ROM are completely different. Express is like the fast start, burning ROM offers the customization intelligent users need.

Has anyone done it successfully with the normal DVD Decryptor method at a slower speed?
Please tell me the best of these methods which would be best to use?
Which one worked for anyone here?

Yes several people have backed this game up. Sometimes it needs rebuilt. The PAL version seems to be more troublesome. Try a straight burn with DVD Decrypter: MODE-->ISO-->READ to create image, MODE-->ISO-->WRITE to burn. Burn at 1x, then 2x, then 4x, if that doesn't work. If a straight burn doesn't work, then worry about rebuilding. Use a quality DVD-R, basically anything other than Memorex or Imitation.

jus a quick breakdown of how to burn this game, because everyone keeps posting about it :P. I burned the game using DVD Decrypter straight read and write at 2x speed using Samsung DVD+R, and it worked on swap magic. However in game it was choppy at times, the loading times were very long, and it wud often cut out sound(commentary, ea "trax" etc).
FIFA is frustrating enough without these problems so once again i read the disc, but this time i rebuilt the iso before burning it with Nero at 2.4x speed again with the same media. It works like a dream, loading times have been cut 20 fold, sound quality is up(no longer cuts out), and there is no in game choppiness.
How To Rebuild: Open the iso using Isobuster, drag all the contents into a new folder on the desktop. Then keep the isobuster window open, and the "new" folder window open, and open up Nero burning rom.
Select DVD, and select UDF/ISO mode. Then drag and drop the files from the "new folder" in the same order as shown in isobuster(go from top to bottom).
This works fine on swap magic 3.6, not sure about other versions. However, FIFA 06 is dink :P so i wud advise anyone who has this game, not to play this as u will end up smashing your ps2 in rage.
P.S. Get PES 5

Thanx for the info. A lot of people post about this game when there are several threads that explain it already. I guess Pro Evo Five is supposed to be better. Dunno not much of a Soccer fan.

Make sure your using Nero Burning ROM and not Nero Express. START-->NERO-->NERO ULTRA EDITION-->NERO BURNING ROM. The UDF/ISO option is the very last one on the left under NEW COMPILATION.

I have Nero Ultra 6.16. Open Nero Start Smart. Go to Data CD and click on it. This will bring up Nero Express. The length of the CD will be along the bottom. Add, Delete, Play, will be on the right hand side. On the bottom there will be 3 buttons: Nero, More, Save, and Next. Click on the Nero button and you will be in Nero Burning ROM. It should say ISO1-Nero Burning ROM across the top. Go to FILE-->NEW and click. This should bring up a menu with a bunch of options on the left hand side. CD-ROM UDF/ISO is the last one.

tez 12, I had the newer version of Nero, and was having the same problem as you, not being able to find the burning rom. There definately isnt one there and I looked for hours, even though there is a burning rom icon in the Nero folder it opens up Nero express. I downloaded the Nero ultra from limewire and the Nero burning rom shows up in start smart. Make sure you un-install the version you have before installing the ultra version.
To be honest I find the cdvgen re-build method works better for me, as I tried re-building fifa with the iso/udf Nero method many times to no prevail and the cdvdgen worked first time, with no lag times.
I'm not saying the Nero method doesnt work for most games, I just think that for fifa and other EA sports games its better to use cdvdgen/Iso builder

Well I'm a full time student with no money *cough* damned Avian flu. Be careful if you use Limewire to download music, the RIAA just sent them a letter threatening to sue them about a month ago, if they don't "stop encouraging the uploading of copyrighted material." I'm no lawyer but how having a P2P network encourages piracy, I'll never know. So use Peer Guardian if you're gonna download music, programs or, w/e.
