Lo and behold, my TY turned into an OPTODISCR04 in the process. Apparently, my BenQ 1620 somehow writes over the MID code ocaissionally.
Wow, I didn't think that this was possible.

I didn't either, but I have no other explaination. It would be extremely coincidental to have a TY with the wrong MID code that just happened to be the same as the disc being copied. This was probably the case with the others, but I never put 2 + 2 together before. Now that I think of it, the Band of Brothers Verbatim with the Prodisc code csme from an original DVD. I don't know what happened in that case. I would still bet that it is burner related, though. As I recall, all of these discs were burned on my BenQ. It's still an excellent burner even if it does do this once in a while.
