this is the one i'm waiting for personally....

new high-end Serial-ATA DVD-ReWriter drive ? the internal PX-755SA capable of 16x DVD+/-R and 10x DVD+R DL burning speeds. The Premium PX-755SA takes advantage of the latest motherboard SATA connectivity and comes with a comprehensive package of powerful features to give the professional user full recording control.

that and the Benq dw-1650~ :0

i'm gonna be a guinea pig for THOSE 2 drives when they become available...already have sufficient funds saved away for those 2 future purchases... :)

Plextor PX-755SA (will be my first SATA optical drive) and the Benq dw-1650 (well, i've been waiting for this to come out for like 2 months now since i first read about it...i'm not interested in the 1655 which is the Lightscribe one, i'm more into PURE burning drives, Lightscribe is really interesting/kool; but it's just not what I want personally for my setups~)

I contacted TY awhile back asking if they have DL media available. They reponded back with an e-mail that stated they would have "DVD-R DL media available in mid 2006." I'm not sure if that means no DVD+R DL media or if they just didn't include all the information in their response.

OK, I'm not new to DVD ripping, but I'm new to forums such as this. Can somebody tell me how to make and post screenshots such as the one a few posts up? PLEASE? (and thank you)

Ahhhh... I checked out the properties of that screenshot by 9mmruger1 and see that it's just an image that is uploaded to Imageshack. So if somebody can just tell me how to make the .png file/screenshot I would appreciate it. I would like to be able to post these in this forum from time to time. This is my first time on this forum... This information sure would make a nice welcome preasant!

Basic steps to print a screenshot of your scan(s) and post here at AD, try to do these steps:

<01> press "print screen" button on your computer
<02> go to START, Programs, Accessories, Paint
<03> click on Edit, then Paste
<04> now click on the square dots/select next to the star/free-form select
<05> use your mouse to cut the size you want/need
<06> click on Edit, Cut, then File and New, then No (don't save it yet)
<07> now Right click and paste or Edit and Paste
<08> now save it as PNG on your computer (it's quality is better than JPEG)
<09> go here http://img283.echo.cx/ and browse to select your saved picture, then OPEN
<10> now click on [host it], once your picture pops up, Left click on your picture
<11> now Righ click, then Properties, now highlight the Location and copy the "Location url"
<12> now come to AfterDawn, when you want to post your picture, type as below
<13> [img]pasteYourPictureURLhere[/i mg]

**NOTE: make sure the , I did that on purpose because it will look weird on AD without a real URL that's all. If you just want to upload/post a picture that's already saved on your computer, then you can just start from steps <09> only.

See, and now you have a cool looking picture like this one below.

I have a Lite-on 167T and a NEC 3540

should i be using the lite-on to do my scans then???

But i also read somwhere on here that a lite-on isn't good
to scan with.

Any thoughts????

i don't know WHERE you read it, but a Liteon is MUCH MORE reliable than an NEC to do SCANNING on... :)

this is true with Pioneers as well, the burning portion is great, but scanning, Pioneers don't hold a candle next to a Liteon for the scanning part~

Benqs are pretty reliable to do accurate scans too...

Tried every kind of mrdia outthere TY's are graet but for the money you cant beat Ritec G05's like $40 for 100 great quality but still burn at a speed 4X or even 2X on a 8X disc this really does help, believe me from experiencce. Hate the extra 5 minute wait but it's worth it!! Supermediastore.com or for 50 spindles Rima.com for $17 for 50 inkjet printable to hub.
