OKAY, I need some serious help.

FIRST OFF- I'm describing a problem from a fat ps2

I followed this tutorial on another website and everything was going good, right up until I had to use a home made disc swapper, I used a credit card, and the disk popped out fine, I put in the CogSwap disc and pushed it in. I used my homemade creditcard/swapper and push the white thing back over...so I'm like ok here it goes!

I hit X to play the disc and screen goes RED.

I waited a few minutes thinking it might still be alright....waited...nothing seemed to be happening :(

I hit the eject button, but NOTHING happened, I freaked out so I turned off my ps2.

Turning it back on, I hit the eject button and still nothing !!!!! WTF!!!!! I hit it again, the little blue light flashing in my face, nothing happens again!

I can hear it trying to get back on track or something, but it seems like it THINKS the disc is already ejected...

I have been googling for hours before and I decided to post this for myself.

Thanks peoples!!

TBandit, you push it to the right to get the disc out...

I did that, and then I put in my CogSwap.

Pushed it back in, then tried to push the white thing back to the left, (maybe I didn't push it all the way to the left?).

It had some error, and ever since I can't get it to eject.

You said that the disc tray tries to eject but ends up not coming out, maybe when you were pusing the white cog in under the disc tray you pushed it off track or something. If your really desparate you should go ahead and open the ps2 and check the tray if you havent already

Dude, TBandit, I'm already that far, I have my ps2 open and I can even see the laser at where I'm at.

I still can't get UNDER the tray to where the white cog is...I can't force it out, feels like it will break is I pull/push it out too hard.

damn this sucks.

Ok all, here's a question for ya's, I have learned so much about exploiting, copying and the use of the MC, hdd, and the usb flash drive, using such tools as ARMAX, CODEBREAKER and such, I have even learned how to create a fliptop case from scratch, but believe me, buying one is better, unless u want to go the el-cheepo way, and just take off the top of your fat ps2, and open the drive up and just swap the discs that way, it would work, of course given that you don't have pets in your home to scamper all over the place.

But, my question is this, after all the tutorials that I have read, here and everywhere else, I can not find one single pic showing me how to use the slidetool on a Model: SCPH-50010 Date Code: 3C which according to one report means its a Version 9 Fat Ps2, while another says its a Version 10 Fat Ps2 (with of course the Hard drive and Network connections which came with it)

The problem with mine, is that I can not find this pin that you peeps talk about, I looked under the tray, and I don't know what exactly to look at, because there is no pic showing this on my version, could it be possible that the pin is broke off?, considering I bought it off the net years ago. I just took off the front of the tray no problem, but I lifted the tray up and can't seem to find this pin, I even put a light under the tray and can't find it. Help would be greatly appreciated, sorry for the long post.

I thought id be wise and just move the white cog over with a knife...bad idea. I had the same problem you did (asumming the white cog was pushed ALL the way to the right) and also searched everywhere to no avail. What I did to fix it was: take the top cover off and remove the top of the tray (with the magnetic thing). I plugged the ps2 back in and pressed the eject button. I could see the gear spinning under the tray on the left and (this is where it gets scary) I pulled on the tray until I heard grinding. Then (as the gear was spinning) I pulled harder and bingo, the tray caught the gear and rolled right out. NOW IT WORKS FINE ...3.5 hours later. I really only did this out of desperation, but I guess I got lucky. If you decide to try this I hope you are as lucky as I was.

Any of these tricks works on a moded ps2 77004? (europe)

I have AR max and some backup games. Would like to *cheat* in them but i cant launch a backup game through AR max. Ive read some tricks using an original game but not sure how to switch the dvd's without opening the lid.

Apparently the trick is to first start AR max, load a cheat, insert an original PS2 game. After it loads etc you switch the DVD's without the PS2 knowing it...

Anyone know how the heck to do this?

The version i got 77004 (or something like that), looks very much like the version 14.

I tried this with my last PS2 and broke it... :(
I just need to see a video or guide that shows me HOW TO TAKE OFF THE FRONT COVER OF THE DISC TRAY, because I've seen slide card guides a gajillion times already!

(Not to take away from this one, it's very nice)

Magic Keys, Slimtool, Twistool, are all crap. Most of them don't allow you to shut the drive.

Firstly, sensor 2 isn't actually a sensor. It's just a disc break, you can remove it all together.

Sensor 3 is a bitch if you're going to put something in through that little hole from your cd drive. It's easier to open up your console and tape it down.
Sensor 1 - simply put tissue inside then put tape over it.
Instead doing this, will leave you $5 richer.

I've also made a youtube video recently where I show how to block the ps2 slim sensors:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCt3CAv_R4Q

Interestingly enough, sensor 3 is a curcuit breaker; current goes through it to the mainboard, only when it's pressed down.
You can actally remove sensor 3 and soldier a wire in the circuit it connect to, thus closing the circuit and leaving teh ps2 always thinking it "pressed down".:
This video (which is a video response from another youtuber, to my video that I linked above) shows what I'm talking about pretty well:
