rujin,
Let me add my 2c if I may.

First off you got pretty good advise from all of the guys here.
I will address the media first. TDK can be good or can be bad, me personally lucked out on them, before I knew any better, so let's not knock it just yet.

From your last log,

12:35:13 PM #5 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 279
Last possible write address on media: 2298495 (510:46.45, 4489MB)
Last address to be written: 2286005 (508:00.05, 4464MB)

Locoeng already suggested to reduce the size of your file. At 4464MB you are all the way to the edge of the disk. So that is where I see your problems are coming from. So go ahead and reshrink your file to a moore reasonable size, like 4300MB, then burn again. You will most then likely succeed.

If you still have a problem then it might be a bad batch of media, but again at this point I doubt it.

Okay, well I have successfully burned some DVDs, but instead of using Nero separately to burn these, I just use DVD Shrink to automatically rip/encode and burn them(using Nero's engine I've heard), and they have been successful. Not quite sure if this actually helps but I will keep doing it this way until a problem occurs. I have read some stickied posts about TDK being one of the better medias, but hearing from you other posters I guess thats just not the case.

I will buy better media such as Taiyo's, found a cheap site from a post stickied...about the same price for the TDK's I paid for at buy.com. But I will use up the 50pack I bought before getting some new media.

I also have some quick questions, I have just recently started to use the deep scan option, where DVD Shrink analyzes the DVD again. I also have used the option underneath that where DVD Shrink helps make the DVD more sharp/smooth, etc. However the second option makes the burn process alot longer, I was wondering it is actually worth it..I am no videophile expert anything I just want a good backup quality to the naked eye. So is there even a really point to do these options? Also I have also got a copy of DVD RB, is DVD Shrink better or is just a matter of perference? Thanks for all the help m8s

I would recommend using deep analysis on all your DVD Shrink backups and anything requiring 80% or more compression I would recommend AEC sharp (default) at least. Max smooth will most likely give you the best results but then agai it takes the longest.

Comparing DVD Shrink to RB/CCE or RB/HC is like comparing oranges to apples. They are both fruits and thats about it. DVD Shrink (a transcoder) can not compare to RB/CCE or RB/HC (encoders).

But will I definately be able to tell the difference with the AEC sharp or smooth on? I also read about a VOB tool which gets rid of dead cells, would a program like this be useful?

Not quite sure what the difference between a transcoder and an encoder are...thought DVD Shrink was a encoder.

This http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=55302 should explain some differences between transcoders and encoders.
