Jeanc1 and gear were both Addicts when they gave up...this place can become alot like a job only you aren't getting paid, and I think this is where some people get confused on what AD is all about. If an addict or sr. member is helping out a noob and the noob or someone else just isn't getting it or someone else is making the matter worse, the AA or SM get frustrated and unlike what they can do with their real job they quit. Like Ireland said just step away from the forum for as long as you need and when you are ready you can come back, just look at scubapete, fasfrank, and bbmayo...they are all addicts and they have stepped away from AD but still pop in from time to time.

BBmayo actually did say he was leaving and turning his quides and homepage over to someone else to maintain, but he has come back from time to time...as for scubapete I think he got fed up with some stuff here and just left(he also had some health issues), but still pops in from time to time. And as you know fasfrank doesn't come around much anymore either but I've seen him more recently.
I never said that anyone of these ppl stated they wanted to leave, I just wanted to point out addicts that arent around anymore for whatever reason...and they can still come back whenever they want, they don't have to be reinstated by an admin or anything like that.

LOCO - I think the addicts just get pissed off. It gets a bit predictable, and the newbies more frustrating. It's kind of like reading the same magazine over & over. At the moment, my pet peeve is people echoing what I say by either saying "2nd that" or "yeah, do what lethal said" or basically repeating what I say, but not in so many words. I am not going to leave (couldn't possibly), but it's things such that drive people (especially Afterdawn Addicts) away..

If i was him i'd probably stay away. The morale is as low as it's been since I got here, and the newbies are just that tiny bit more adgitating - enough to make one go mad - as we have seen over the past few days. If I were to leave right now, I'd probably be in no hurry back either. Unfortunately for you lot, I love the forums too much :)
