No prob. Shady mod sites piss me off. People should ideally do their homework and know all the ins and outs of getting a chip beforehand. But realistically very few people do, so if I can save people from shady mod a**holes, then it's worthwhile. There are plenty of reputable modders around. If I found out any modders on my list pulled what these people did to you, they'd be off the list asap and the word would be go out. Good luck getting it sorted. Report back whenever you get your new chip installed. Cheers!
I got it fixed with a MI chip now everything is good :D I prolly need to find better DVD's then my Maxell, they dont seem to work, but they did with my swap disk.
Good Deal, the MI is awesome, if I don't say so myself. I use Taiyo Yuden's, 170+ PS2 backups with 0 coasters. You can order them online or try to find them locally. Your best bet is to order them online.
106. Q. Where I can find top notch Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim media locally?
A. This is somewhat of a crap shoot. Big manufacturer's like Fuji, Sony, and Maxell have at one point past or present payed Taiyo Yuden to manufacture media for them. The big companies slap their name on the label even though the discs were manufactured in Japan by Taiyo Yuden. These discs will always be made in Japan. Authentic TY media isn't made anywhere else. Even if it says Made in Japan on the label, there is no gauruntee of getting authentic Taiyo Yuden media. You could still end up with Sony or Fuji media codes. Hence why I said this is a crap shoot. Places like Comp USA, Office Depot, Sam's Club, and Staples will carry Made In Japan branded discs. Again there is no way to know for sure from the package whether these are authentic Taiyo Yuden's. If you don't want to risk getting non TY discs, you can find 50 packs of Verbatim in the afore mentioned chain stores. One other alternative is the Made in Japan High Grade Maxell DVD+R's. They will say Made in Japan on the label and "High Grade" as well. These are excellent media. Remember when using DVD+R's, it's best you have a burner that supports booktyping/bitsetting, and a v.4 PS2 or later. Much thanks goes to kivory666 aka "docTY" for this information. He is indeed the Taiyo Yuden master. The best place to get authentic Taiyo Yuden media is from reputable online vendors like http://www.supermediastore.comhttp://www.rima.comhttp://www.meritline.com or http://www.newegg.com
Hey i just bought the Chipmod Pro and got it installed today and i already found out something i dont like about it hehe. I noticed that this chip will not work with the Action Replay Max :(. Im guessing it wont work because the chip automatically turns off once the ps2 is done booting and so the AR Max wont recongnize copied ps2 games. Does anyone know if there is a way to get this working please? Its driving me nuts and making me regret purchasing this chip.
same old same old, Just got my PSTwo back from Davbere with the HD Combo case and 250GB HDD so i am looking forward to getting home and trying that out.
That's cool, should breathe some new life into the PS2. I'm still in full Xbox mode for now, will get back to the PS2 eventually. Haven't seen ya round XS much of late. Anyway, take care man, don't want to hijack this thread.
