y u have to be hating on the newbies huh!
I know this stuff only form reading 5 or 6 manuals about 100 times, I was freaking out about ruining my xbox so I read them over and over.

some say yes and some say no, but I trashed a Raid 5 controller and I believe its because i was hot swapping the drives, it was a new controller at the time.

You won't trash the Raid , just pause the boot and swap the IDE cable
