The only problem with that idea is carrying round a laptop with you, and the cheap ones aren't exectly "Portable" they weight a ton!
You may has well carry a desktop around with you LOL.

oh yeh.... but u dont really 'backup' when ur in a public place. i waz thinkin more of a useful thing. i mean: having a laptop sukz, but if u need to do some typing up on a big screen (i heard psp has a keyboard) you can whip out the laptop.
my friend did it when we went on a trip. he brang his laptop along to chuck photos on. we went to a cafe where they had wireless. he connected up to the net, send the photos he took to a friend and yeah. i waz thinkin that kinda sense.
but like in my last post, it is kinda more expensive. i like having a directory explorer... so id prob get a laptop so i can use it for other stuff :S

yea not to mention they make your genital area all hot when its in your lap too..
its better to get the mp3 or the portable drive..
really the portable drive 40gb for 140 thats good i wonder if you could find it cheaper

yeah i have a laptop too, but dont really wanna bring that with my as well as the psp....going to be traveling alot over the month..sont wwannt have too much stuff with me!!
after google-ing usb host, ive found quite a few players actually support this, samsung, i river etc etc
but i really dont want to have to buy an mp3 player, was going to get an ipod awhile ago, but couldnt justify buying it as i hardly ever listen to music with headphones...always either in my car or on the stereo at home...so cant really justify buying one just for this either...
i suppose what i could do is write the games to a DVDR then take that with me and just transfer them in an internet cafe or something....not really what i wanted to do as its an 11hour plane journey! will have to choose very carefully so!!!
So.....any suggestions for games?? GTA:LCS is gotta be one of them! was thinking madden 06 as i love this game for xbox....humm...reccomendations!?!

4gb can fit... quite a fair few games. like, 30-40ish? thats a lot of games already :S
@Joeva: i found > Apacer Share Steno 211 + 100 gb laptop HDD = AUD$320
just need to install the laptop hdd seperately, cauz the Apacer Share Steno comes just with the case. in the US of A, u could prob find something better, cauz in aust were a bit behind in tech :P

I think I've found a solution for me anyway.
Here is a link to a 2.5 (laptop HDD) case which is a OTG USB card reader. It's £30(around $55 I think) on the UK ebay site, I'm sure you could get it somewhere in the USA.

This way you can take out the Duo card insert it in the case (lucky I have a spear 40GB laptop HDD to put in it) and then copy the games/movies to the Duo and insert it back into the PSP.
All my games on the move, it's a small case so it's not to much to carry around.
Job done.

dont laugh peeps but i fell asleep on my laptop lol and i just woke up lol, i drooled all over the keyboard and i had to erase a very long post of just b's v's and spaces lol.
o boy it was a good nap tho.
as for mr o, man do whatever works for ya, im just glad i was able to help..
and sarah, when you asked what games you liked, i was going to recommend ape academy and some others which are games that are sorta kiddy(although i play ape academy)

do you really like this game? My favorite backs-ups are lumines, Exit, Mega man, gta and coded arms..what games do you like to play?
if you are bring your laptop you can change it anywhere you don't have to be in a internet cafe, as long as you have a laptop and a card reader or usb, you're good.
and 11 hour plane ride? where are you coming from buttercakes?

lol, nah im not bringing my laptop just the disk...but now i see Mr.O's suggestion and i might invest in one of those....could pick up 10gig lappy HD fairly cheaply i reckon would be perfect for me!!!
From Ireland here. Yeah love Madden, was addicted to it all summer long! can't play xbox as much as i used to with work these days...suppose we all have to grow up sometimes, although with me, its long over due!!!
i like almost all sports games,golf,football,hockey,baseball, American football...etc, fps, RPG ..playable games, nothing insanely hard cos i have the attention span of a goldfis....oh look something shiney!....h..not mad on driving games....somthing about having to commute an hour there and back from work puts me off driving games lol!!

wow, thats cool. Whats your favorite team on madden? Me personally i have madden 06 for ps2 and i have a backup for psp which i never got to work so i dont play.. but i looooooove madden 2006, Have you played live 2006?
since you're into sports i would recommend you get mlb the show for psp, pro evo and fifa street 1 are also good soccer games for psp, coded arms is a good fps, lumines is a very good puzzle game, unfortuantly there aren't good rpgs really for psp. which brings me to another question, which rpgs have you played and liked.
Jus cause you play video games doesn't mean you arent grown up! i know 45 year olds that play video games and are very mature ppl.
And you're irish, happy belated st pattys day. You probably looked like a cute kiwi last friday lol. i swear nyc looked green the whole weekend.

lol, thank you, however i was working on paddys day and didnt really get to celebrate!!!
i have a modded xbox so havent played madden live, actually the PAL version of madden 06 isnt actually live enabled. my mate came over tonight, she just bought a 360 and she was using my broadband connection to download the patches to play original xbox games, man it was sweet!!!we had a few games of halo2 on live.. gotta get me one of those, was going to wait until they had a chip for it, but think i might have to give into temptation!!!
as for my fave team, im with the lions in superstar mode, but i like the patriots also!
i like fifa street, however the announcers voice really wrecks my head in it sometimes, his accent really gets on my nerves! have got fifa street 2 for the xbox there the other day but havents been able to sit down properly to play it!

lol, unfortunatly im going to loose cool points here, but, no i didnt mod my own box, purely because it worked out cheaper to buy a pre-modded box, i already had a box that was about 6 months old, but i wanted a new one to get the most life out of the dvd drive, and also wanted to keep one box for live so i bought a pre-modded one...
mostly when im not gaming im working or sleeping! lol , nah im in a band so, im also doing band stuff, nothing exciting really!! lol!!

oh cool! i was thinking about either buying a pre-modded box but i want to do it myself taht way i can learn about my x box in the process, cause i learned a lot about my psp in the process of getting apps and stuff like that. its still cool that you bought a pre-modded one, i am lazy too most of the time trust me =)
is it soft modded or hard modded? if hard modded how big of a hd?
and you're in a band? hmmmm are you lead, drums, guitar? if guitar, base player?
what kinda band is this?

i dont really see the hype in owning a modded xbox, let alone owning an xbox. i havent found one good game on it that i cant find on ps2. i dont kno how people liked the xbox. waz it cauz it waz easily modify-able? i rather just get the other good games on xbox to pc, if there is any.
if possible, i jus wana kno a lil bit why u guys like the xbox. i find it REALLY WEIRD why xbox is so favoured...

well now, i thought exactly the same as you, ive been a PS Gal all my life, but then my buddy got a box and we used to spend friday night around at hers playing halo and getting drunk...ever since i played the xbox about a year ago ive been hooked!! i hardly ever play my PS anymore and don't think ill invest in the ps3 when it comes out either...i think the game play features in xbox games are far better than in ps games....oh and theres one word for you HALO!!

Nah, i never thought twice when the xbox came out, didnt think it could hold a candle to my beloved ps2.....blew it out of the water imho!

yeh, played halo. absolutely hate fps games on consoles (luv them on computer) cauz its hard to aim and hard to get used to.
i didnt like the xbox cauz of the damn controller >_< . no games appealed to me at all on xbox (probz cauz im an RPG/tenchu fan). DOA i liked, but thats also on ps2. only one tenchu game waz on xbox (they also had ninja gaiden, but thats a cheap knockoff of tenchu). friends are obsessed with xmen legends. but yeh... xbox doesnt really appeal to me.
i seriously cant find a good point to the xbox OR xbox 360

there was no point to that post mcintosh, we just went through the whole thread discussing that, pay attention kid!
anywho... sarah you are completely right halo is the shit to play drunk. Now i have to agree with you sarah and disagree. Truth is I was and still am a psboy but I did get the xbox for splinter cell and halo. Halo is a great game, really good lol. But i still play devil may cry and mgs and other games that only come on sony. No greggii ninja gaiden is not a knock off of tenchu at all, its more like a mix of mgs and devil may cry. I also play call of duty on my x box, i seriously don't want to spend more money getting games, i shelled out enough money with this damn psp, so i just wanna modd it and get it over with both my xbox and my ps2..
the only fps i play on pc is unreal tournament game of the year addition, its the best one til unreal just went for graphics instead of gameplay, no other ut comes close to ut gote in gameply...
and the newer xbox's controller is easier to deal with. overall i really only play about 5 games for xbox and have a library of like 30+ games for ps2 ha ha.
Sarah i think i'd have to play you in halo sometime, you ready to lose to this drunken master?

i have about 10 or so ps games, games i really liked enough to go out and buy, but for my modded xbox i have around 200+ games...unfortunatly...i havent nearly enough time to play them..
suppose each console has their good and bad points, however for me..its gotta be the xbox, hands down no competition!
oh, one thing that you forgot to mention about the ps...its lack of online gameplay, which is a big factor wel for me anyway, nothing better than a game of halo on XBC!!

200 games? i take it these are backups on discs right lol.. either that or you have like a 2000gb harddrive..
i've played more than 5 xbox games, its just i only own about 5(i borro like hell lol). i own about 20 game cube games lol(i didnt buy most of them), and i don't play that system at all lol. don't get me wrong i love halo, splinter cell, call of duty and ninja gaiden.. but i have more options on the ps2
i can take getting beaten by a girl, actually i think i might like that it wont happen tho. never! so you can keep dreaming buttercakes lol.
