I always check w/ DVD identifer... never been taken from Mediasupperstore- have not found a lower priece for TYs

just sometimes better to pick up the sony's in the store.. (if possible.) mess with no shipping.. mess with not waiting for it.. depending on where you are.. you probably may pay sales tax

Can anyone tell me if these disc i have here are taiyo's?a buddy of mine gave me a few of his he just bought at microcenter.they are windata but the info from Nero disc identifier says yuden. are they legit?

those Windata are FAKE Taiyo Yudens...they are NOT legit~ i wouldn't strongly suggest you not continue to use those..."made in hong kong" is a DEAD giveaway~ :)

thanks DOC. ill use those windatas to store some files i dont need on..lol i did just go to sams club here in the states for those who arent familar with sams its a big discount wholesale place for everything. and they had the MIJ sony's. whats even better they were 75 in a stack for $24.95 yes i got me some...

@ae86akina: Maxwell coffee isn't so hot, however, MAXELL media is pretty darned good. ;) As far as I've seen, it's not in the top two (Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim hold those spots) but it's definitely one of many vying for third place (along with others like Sony, Fuji from Japan, Ritek, etc.).

Maxwell: Good to the last drop!!!!
The maxells I buy-plus format- are the spindles that say made in japan. These are made by Hitachi of Japan. Excellent quality media.
Majority of Maxell media is taiwanese. These will Code as Ritek and very few are made by cmags. Riteks are pretty good,but not the cmags.
Look on the shrink wrappers for Made in Japan. Those spindles will be mixed in with the taiwanese.The price will be the same for whichever country produced them. Plus format-you'll be ok, Dash-slight chance of cmags from taiwan.If you live in canada: An even higher chance of getting maxell cmags.
This is one brand name of media that can have a huge quality difference between the plus 8x and dash 8x.
Go for the Japanese maxells.

anyways, i wholeheartedly agree with saugmon in the Maxell brand...i will only use the MIJ these days, Hitachi made media is excellent~ :)
keep on looking for the "made in japan", if on the 16x DVD-R format, the MIJ will be MXLRG04, in MY opinion, quite possibly the best 16x rated DVD-R format disc available now, comparable or even better than the 16x DVD-R TYG03s (taiyo yudens) :)
