Yeah there are two MGS games coming to the PSP, a Digital Comic and a supposedly traditional Metal Gear Solid.
Steps to bricking a PSP:
1. Get a brick
2. Hit the psp with it untill it won't run any longer
Congratulations, your psp is now bricked.

Okay thank you very much. I have another KEY question then:
If something goes wrong and my PSP bricks while downgrading the 2.0 to a 1.50 would it be possible to still send it into sony or return to the store if i do it within the first day or two of purchasing? You know just claim it was defective or something? I'd buy it from a store, like EB Games or Best Buy. Thanks

@joeva, you don't need to wait 30 seconds after it says the update has failed, you just go ahead and switch it off, no offence but just thought i'd point that out

Upgrading/downgrading your psp is writing to flash
changing buttons is writing to flash
basically just check to see if the program is writing to flash
those will usually say
THIS PROGRAM WRITES TO FLASH, RUN AT YOUR OWN RISK
or sumthing along those lines
Usually if you follow instructions and you got the program from a reputable site you should be ok

Have you tried restoring default settings, then insert memory stick? if that doesnt work you may have a faulty memory stick, the contacts on the actual card may have become worn out or damaged, i dont think you can brick a memory stick as its only a storage device...

Ok so i did everything according to the instructions and i have a few questions. When you say a black screen with white letters, do you mean when you look at it on your computer or when you look at it on your psp because whenever i go to the Photo menu on my psp it shows overflow to be "Corrupt Data" and a square with a big slash through it. I checked the game folder and it said "Upgrade 1.5" so im not sure if its going to work and i just dont know it or what. I turned my psp on and off repeatedly as well as replaced the overflow file. it still says corrupted. Please help

no, but you can have one that doesnt work. bricking is referring to motherboards, which means.. *gasp* you can even brick your computer...

umm that means you dont have a 2.0 psp, if its should be a black and white screen when you look at it through your psp. like i said, if not, then you dont have a 2.0 psp.
so this brings me to a question.
what version is your psp.
btw here is what you can do with a 2.01,2.5 & 2.6 psp
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/300895
by the way that doesnt apply to popstations.
