Andy coco your best bet is going for the unbranded Taiyo Yuden's 100 DVD-R 8x shiny silver surface from SVP or the printable ones.

Trust me these are real authentic TY's that give you VERY good quality readback check my profile page as it has a Nero disc quality test from TY's @ SVP.

Hi that sounds like a DVDrip that has had the fmv movies taken out to make it smaller.

Where did you download it from and what was the full name of the download?

That file size seems about right for Kingdom Hearts 2, also you can find alot of good private torrent sites that are free of charge just to let you know.

I could suggest that it might be a bad media issue, what media do you use and does it go quite slow when starting the game up?

PS Lun7000 I have personally downloaded that exact file (in the past) from torrentleech if you right click on the first rar file only and extract this, you won't have any issues.

Hi there, I am a newbie in there "burning" and "hacking" ps2 things. I just downloaded a game, Marvel ultimate alliance from Bittorrent but now I don't know what to do. I have tried to extract some stuff "I'm not sure what i'm doing" and got a few things which looks similar to a normal ps2 game. I have burned these files into a DVD+R disc and tried to play it but it isn't functioning. I have looked all over the net for answer so can anyone please help me out? I wasted 4 DVD+R discs already. I have a couple of pictures to show you where I am stuck.I also have a modded ps2, WinRAR, extractnow, dvd decypter, Nero, . The part I don't seem to understand the most is the iso files. I didn't get any iso file. or maybe i did but don't know where to look for it.

what do i do from there? do I just extract it out to another folder and burn it to my discs, if so, I have done that. Could it be because I burned these information as "Data DVD" that the ps2 can't read it? There is no other way to burn though. These files are not images or audio.

you have WinRAR associated with iso's,thus have extracted the games contents, the third picture is correct,as it has the .iso extension

open WinRAR,and untick the iso tab

options/settings/intergration (untick ISO)

is your ps2 modded?

YESS SUCCESS!! I did it!!
All I had to do was to burn the iso file to the DVD, not extracting it and burn the extracted single files because they are not image files or something.

*whew* after six hours of headache.. it's time to play.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am used to seeing a silver disc icon as my iso, I was getting to the 3rd screen and extracting again, ending up with files and stuff all over the place.

Thanks again.

Aww
I thought this was an answer to a problem I am having with Katamari Damashi......but I have just checked and I can't see any ISO at all. Is there any way to burn without an ISO?.....when I D/l'd I got a zip file...that I needed to unzip twice, and am left with 7 files...Dummy.bin, File 00.bin, File 01.bin, File 02.bin, Ioprp300.img (which I thought was the burn image but I can't get Nero or DVDDecypher to recognise it), Slus 210.08 and System file
I have looked and can't see any ISO extensions.
Does anyone know about this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thats where you have gone wrong, what makes you think it needs unpacking twice?,because it has the WinRAR icon?

The file I downloaded was a rar file...I unzipped that and was left with another rar file....I checked and the extension was .rar and not the .iso that I hoped it would be after reading the thread. after unzipping again I was left with the files that I listed above.

I was so excited from reading this I went back and unzipped the original, I thought I had done the same as Jeff, but my "second screen" only had another Rar file (extension).
I also went into DVD Decrypter, and used the "Make MDB file" option, and included all the files that I had in the final .rar, and then burnt to a DVD using that MDB file (Can't remember now if "MDB" is the correct name, but I guess you know what I mean)...now the PS2 doesn't go straight to the memory card browser as it did before....but it just keeps reading the disk for about 10 minutes (I stopped trying after about 10 mins.) with no result. I guess that is better than it not recognising the disk, but not better as far as actually running the game ;)
Just wondered if any of you guys, had had any similar sort of experience....I really want to play Katamari, And I know I should just buy it, but I am living in Taiwan now, and I don't have a credit card at the moment, so I guess if I want to buy it I will have to wait until next time I am back in England.... was just hoping this would work.

well without actually being at your pc to take a look, and if you dont post a few screen shots of what you have, its hard to suggest anything

if you do have the games files, you can rebuild them into a image using Nero burning rom (udf/iso)
drop all the files into there to make a compilation, and burn the files to disk

Yeah I understand hursty, I am afraid I don't have any image software and this pc is a bit too low spec to install any. I'll try the Nero udf/iso thing and if that doesn't work...I'll forget it ;)
Thanks for your help
