Nah, as in it appears that it tries to boot but it eventually gives up and turns itself off. My luck that it'd work one day and die the next. It's not even a lighted blank screen, just completely blank. Not even the demo disc will load anymore because the PSP itself wont even get to that point
try removing the umd, and the memory stick. So when your psp starts it will start straight away without trying to load the umd or the memory stick. If it works then try putting the umd in, otherwise try removing the battery or holding the power button in up position for 15 seconds.
ok i know why this has happened i was tossing up the same idea as u to change the menu names and what not. i looked into it for about 2 weeks and didnt do it, the reason it sometimes turns on and when it does it turns off when you move along the menu your psp doesnt have the font or the text in its memory and doesnt know wat 2 do and turns off. the only thing you can do is.
i'll make a list of suggestions
1. load an update firmware v2.00 on ur mem stick then try to get to it.
2. put a game it the psp and try to boot it up from there. also if u had gta with eloader or wateva it is u could open the update from there.
3. after u have ur psp on leave it and put a game in with v2.00 firmware upgrade in and it try and open that.
these are some ways i think u could update ur firmware this will replace the menu names and then u could downgrade.
Ya I tried that stuff Peice and more with a million combinations, unfortunatley nothing yet. I guess I'm just gonna have to keep trying and hope that I get lucky somewhere along the line. I figure it like this, if it wasn't completely bricked before why would it suddenly become bricked when I inserted a demo disc UMD? Actually I guess it could kinda get bricked that way, maybe I'm in denial lol
Warrantys dont cover it if you're the one that messes it up. On top of that I got it June last year, and it's obvious that I opened the thing up a few times
time to look into motherboards or psp repairs, id keep trying everything before i go that road though, charge the battery whatever it takes.
Otherwise you could try get Sony to replace it with a fee ofcourse, then maybe youd be one of the ppl with the new 2.7 firmware.
