hi :)
you can ask a 100 ppl their opinion on a subject and get a 100 different answers. then you can ask the same question to the vendor and get the answer that suits there agenda.
then you can ask the same question again of the few who will give you the answer from their own experience. which answer you decide to follow, only you can decide

Hi just caught up with your thread, i live in Great Britain and although new to this i have used Arita for my xbox backups with excellent results , as long as you burn them at a slow speed . Dont think had a dozen coasters in about 200 + backups. Am i just lucky ? Also get good results on video backups , again as long as i use a slow burn speed . Btw my burner is a sony dru 700 a .

HOW TRUE HOW TRUE, i will have to concur 100%, all the answers people seek regarding media depends a LARGE part to WHO they turn to for such advice, i've heard some RIDICULOUS crap sometimes, people claiming THIS and THAT, people downplaying certain media that they have NEVER USED before with NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE, just hearsay on the grapevine...whatevers..."my friend told me x media sucks and y media is awesome" blah blah blah...
i TRUST the advice from people i know that HAVE USED x,y,z media before on THEIR particular setups, not some crap they heard from a friend and their buddy is a retard that couldn't properly burn a dvd if it jumped out of the spindle by itself and did it for them. :)
trust the suggestions by the KNOWLEDGEABLE people that KNOW how to burn properly AND have used said media in question before, not some 14 yr. old kid who read in a forum that "Ritek media sucks" by some newbie that doesn't even own a computer, let alone can comment on media in general :) i'm growing VERY tired of the ignorance i see these days regarding media, seems like EVERYONE AND THEIR MOMS are an "Expert in media" because they spent $x amount of money on a particular brand but was too stupid to know how to use it PROPERLY, so they think "hmm...i can't be at fault", so naturally, the blame goes to the media ...rant over (these comments above are NOT DIRECTED AT ANY OF THE CONTRIBUTORS OF THIS PARTICULAR THREAD, i distinctly remember both paiger651 and gurnard specifically when Arita thread from before first came up, those 2 guys DO HAVE EXPERIENCE with Ritek and their judgement is more than valid; it's just a generalized statement/conclusion i have come to lately reading what some people say about x,y,z media; utter crapola~)

those officemax princo's are pure trash, my sony burner would burn SOME of them, but those that did burn started to deteriorate.... the dye side would self destruct, like oil mixed with water, small areas of the dye would disappear....sort of like swiss cheese, ritek is leaps and bounds above anything princo....

I also had quite a few defective RITEK RiDataGO5 thats not really visible until you get a failed burn it looks like a dimple in the dye and it coasters out on that spot. All these defects have been ink jet printables.

I have taken the leap and bought 500 arita g05's (printable) off of meritline. They seem to be working fine in my dvd player, but I've only used about twenty so far.
