That's the first Ritek-R05 MID code I have seen. I love the R-03's. I wander why they didn't call them R-04's?
That makes 3 different mid codes for Office Depot +16x:
Ritek-R05
Ritek-P16
Ricohjpn-R03
All in all,pretty decent manufacturers.

movies27- just a hunch but probably - ritek or ricohjpn like the DVD+R'S ! Not having purchased any yet 16x Officedepot Media I mean! don't take what I say as gospel ! If I can get the 8x OFFICEDEPOT blanks I'll be happy ! Preferably DVD+R so can BOOKTYPE in my BenQ But hey at that price point I'll Take either DVD-R or DVD+R, But if 16x is all that's onsale I s'pose we'll have to try then atleast this once ! Going today & will post once I can check the MID code Good luck & happy shopping movies27! Ciao!

I bought 5 spindles of those +16x office depot discs. First spindle yielded Ritek-P16 and first burn on both my 1650 and 1620 at 8x were ok. I've got the 1620 scanning now, have to wait later for the 1650 scan. They smell just like verbatim, LOL
As long as they scan close to SonyD21,I'll be happy.
Anybody need a SD memory card? They're on sale at OD at $30 for a 1 gb card,no rebate involved!SanDisk is the brand name.
HP a1118x-b/athlon 64-3300+/BenQ 1650 BCDC/LG 8163B/Modded Wii/Epson-R300 and Ty Watershields!!!

saugmon- Gonna be a Bang Up week fer'me ! My lcd monitor is coming tommorow ! ( And no you don't have to thank me ! I'm not going to burst into show tunes from ANNIE ! Maybe Tommorow LOL!) You beat me to the punch or should I say The OFFICEDEPOT media ! Bought two spindles ! was only going to buy one but then wifey wanted a new necklace on QVC so I figured at 20.00 a spindle lets live a little ! Bought the DVD+R's So can booktype on The BENQ ! Hope it likes them P-16's atleast the spindle I opened But with solidburn It can learn to like them right Kinda like being married LOL! Not sure how the NEC'S are going to like them 2500 & 3500 But I do mostly DVD-R's on them .Though they're pretty good with any decent media ! Hooked up the 2500A in a USB2 enclosure did one test burn with some Ritek maxells & seemed to work okay !Actually burned 3 disc at once using disc copier under Roxio with the 3 decks running only hit 4X but hey the burn was sucssesful so what are a few more minutes ! perhaps using taiyo's or verbatims could hit higher speeds during the triple dipple burn ? but was mainly doing it for experimental purposes to see if it work & to check the USB drive/2500A normally I just burn one at a time though! If you burn some of your P-16's let us know how they came out M'kay ! Happy Memorial Day To evertyone & big ups to our military persons past & present and to all those who serve ! our thoughts & prayers ! Peace !

I burned 2 in my benq 1620,and the one burned at 8x scored 97 and the 4x burn scored 96. Pics are in the Benq Hall of fame in the Dvd+/-rw drives forum.
Not so fortunant for my only Benq 1650 scan at 8x. It scored a 95,with a huge spike at the 2.5 gb mark/ That wide-huge spike knocked it from 98 to 95 all by itself. It's still a good scan. I'll have to watch the backup. It should play perfect. Hopefully solidburn will learn how to burn these a little better?
OD had a 17" LCD monitor for $150 and a 19" for $200. I think this is a memorial day only sale?

saugmon- Hooked up my Lcd monitor ! no stuck or dead pixies ! & it's Widescreen so it's freaking Huge ! Dvd's look great on it too ! but have'nt tried a Fullscreen one yet ! lookws so good I might even get a Tv Tuner card Later ? or not ! On the media front I think I'm going to burn up my spindle of TDK 4x DVD+R's ( Ricohjpn) that should take me awhile depending on how many family ( projects I end up doing ) And on the Boogerette front if your in the delivery room when she's being borned and you see a long snake like thing don't worry your not having a future adult film star that's just the umbilical cord LOL!!! Just kidding buddy ! good luck maybe they'll be fraternal twins & then you have a matched set ! Ciao!

I have 1 bad pixel on my 17" dell that I bought off Ebay 2 years ago. Very annoying looking at that bad pixel on the left side of screen.
That last black friday sale-after thanksgiving: I could have kicked myself in the butt. Staple's had the samsung 19" on sale for $195 after rebate. A couple days after that sale,I fixed up an old computer and the monitor just died.

saugmon- I was'nt thinking about getting a Lcd until recently ! tiger Direct had a 19" on sale cheap but I never heard of the brand HANNS G ? then they sold out and had other brands for the same price ! Then I checked @ Newegg.com and Narrowed my selection down to either the Acer 19" widescreen Or The SCeptre 19" widescreen ! spec's wise they were about even but the Sceptre had a better contrast ratio 700/1 versus 500/1 for the Acer and the Sceptre has a DvI input & built in speakers .I have my computer's sound running through a free poineer reciever and a pair of radioshack Minimus 7 metal box spaekers that I bought at a Goodwill store for like $4.00 and sounds pretty good to me !so the monitor speakers will probably not get used ! I don't have a Videocard Yet so I can't use the DvI input yet but it's there if I need it later ! I'm rapidly approaching the upgrade limit of My Emachines W2040 - 1GB ram , Nec 3500, BenQ 1655, 160 GB 2cnd HDD imternal , 400Gb Hdd External & Nec 2500A external ! So it's maybe down to a Videocard & or a Tv Tuner card on the internal front ! Otherwise it's probably time for a Motherboard and CPU upgrade and depending on if I could tranfer memory from the old board to new without taking a performance hit It maybe better to Just buy a whole new computer ! But I think the old girl's still got a lil' Umph !! in her and the computer does too LOL!!! well Good luck and keep varmint dancin' lil Booger buddy ! Happy Fathers day early Too!

The Acer 17" is what I bought at staples for $189 a few weeks after that Samsung black friday sale.. That acer is a very good monitor. It's on pc #4 which is a P-3 celeron/xp home/256 mbs rimm/8 gb and 30 gb hds/and benq 1640. A lean, mean burning machine, until the gf put Yahoo messenger on it. Now it takes 10 mins to do an intial analysis in DVD Shrink. Only 5 mins to rip 4.37 gbs using dvd decrypter's ISO read mode. It's actually faster than my main pc using DVD Decrypter in mode iso read and write.Very odd.
No bootdiscs to reformat that pc,bummer.
I got the Dell 17",which is the only thing made by dell that I'd buy, LOL
Also got a 17" lcd with my bundled HP 1118x-b. Very nice, and all pixells working.

saugmon- Well This is the main & only computer that the LCD is hooked to . Had/have an old Compaq Presario with win 95 on it but is not hooked up now - Fubar does'nt see the 2 CD burners that are installed ! works though even with it's teeny 6GB HDD ! thought about reinstalling windows to reapir problem but istall disc is cd Rom and the computer isn't recognizing either drive ! besides it's not really worth upgrading! Thinking if I get another computer In addition to the Emachines I'd get a laptop with Wifi My lynksis Voip router is set up for that too ! That way when I have hurricane visitors I can atleast access the internet when I want LOL! So far I'm very happy with the LCD and the wife REALLY loves it !! So Next upgrade maybe Videocard ? I don't game other than the occasional game of Pinball or solitaire that is inclued in the games on XP home ! Might be worth it if it helped me on the dvd end of things ! I'm kind of leaning towards one of seagates New 750GB hdd 's for christmas/birthday ! perhaps I'll make the 160Gb my C drive then & uuse the 750GB as my D drive ! or just go outboard USB like I did with the 400Gb drive Assuming someone will make a enclosure rated for 750 gb drives by then or if internal that my powersupply has enough umph! to power it up ? but something else may catch my imaginationby then too! one never knows do one LOL! Good luck & happy Computing!

Just as a test, I burned an Office Depot 16X +R (Mid code of P16) at 16X. It was a small movie (about 1.5GB). Nero quality score was 97! Burner used was a BenQ 1640 with outdated BSJB firmware. Wonder what the newest firmware will give me?
