mainly MGS 2 and glimses of 3 brought forth my argument. I have to say i am not impressed with the MGS 4 15 min clip. I dont see how you can claim that #4 will rock simply from seeing a cinematic trailer. There is no gameplay shown at all and a lame story shown in the 15 mins of flashy prerendered action.
Again i do not want ppl commenting on whether halo or MGS is better in response to this.
I simply wonder which will do better in 2007, halo 3 or mgs 4? I dont care which is actually the better game but i think halo will sell more because of all the hype

i liked soem of the mgs games, not sure which ones (can not remember) but i also love splinter cell on xbox live, where 2 guys can be merchinaries and 2 spys, i have so much fun with that game, for instance, i stand back and taser the guy (with my taser gun offcourse) and my partner hangs above him while he is tasered and jumps down on him and snaps his neck.
but i m looking forward to mgs4. when is it meant to be releasing.

the reason i am saying mgs is better is cause the mgs series has always been AWESOME (except acid) all i am saying (in my opinion) mgs is better than halo also halo might sell more but the only reason is that alot of 10-13 year olds will buy the game but mgs is more of an adult game because it takes actual skill.

Hell no Halo doesnt have better music than MGS. Look at the composer of MGS and u will see that he also composes music for bad ass movies like The ROck.
How did the MGS vs Halo come up anyways??? Totally different types of games. And yea ur right u need some skillz to play MGS.
Wonder if they will ever go into the whole Zanzibar deal so we can more of this "deep throat"action. LOL

The graphics, interactivity, storyline and realness of MGS4 looks incredible. That one title is going to wipe the blood of ALL the Xbox360 games. The old titles & every title until the PS3 release date. You wait and see...MGS4 will be one of the most realistic action/FPS games ever created, for PC/arcade or any videogame system. I'll bet my life on it!!

xhardc0re How can you say it has great graphics and interactivity if they have not shown any gameplay yet, only cinematic clips? Any half decent game maker can create a shiny clip. Only post responses like this when they have displayed actual game footage.

seriously all we can base this on is the past. this thread should be started 4-6 months from now when we know more about the game.

maybe mgs will be realistic in every sense, but that doesnt mean its gonna be fun to play. whats the point if its boring? everyone knows that since mgs on the ps1, every mgs since has been worst. point being mgs4 is probably gonna be crud. its gonna be the same as the ones b4 it just like almost every ps3 game announced

Whos everyone? U and ur imaginary friends dont count as everyone. U probably suck at MGS thats why u say its boring. How could MGS gets worse and worse when the storyline of snake eater goes back b4 MGS 1. U obviously dont know what ur talking about.

im not sure why people seem to hate this game or say the sequals seem to only get worse. i will say, if its not your type of thing then its understandable for someone to not be interested, but to say the game/series basically stinks is sorta narrow minded.
in mgs2 the AI was much improved compared to other games. i recall playing on the ship.....if your char was spotted, a guard coming across a dead guard, or at times when you were in a firefight the guards would go on alert or even call for backup. then at times what would appear to be like a tactical/swat TEAM would pursue you. they were usually better armed and had body shields that you generally could not just shoot through, you either aimed for their feet or head. i believe you could also take a guard hostage, bodies of dead guards did not just randomly disappear but you could drag their bodies out of sight, or stuff them into lockers.
mgs3 was a very different approach, although all are generally based on stealth ability, this one focused on utilitzing your surroundings with help of camouflage. didn't the events in this game occur before those in the 2nd?? so again something a little different.
needless to say mgs4 seems to be futuristic warfare with the return of old characters from the previous games. if people are not a fan of the series then yes this game could prolly bore or even confuse them. the trailors shown at the last two E3s are pretty interesting, look great, and even seem to include a few twists. for fans of the series (like myself) it gives much to look forward to

i remember playing mgs1 demo. id sit there and smoke all the cigarettes till i died.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

on the contrary chris kahn. I never mentioned a thing about story lines. just that the games have gottn gradually worst. I.e. less an less fun to play. halo 2 online, providing there is no one using glitches is quite fun. seriously tho, if all ur concerned with is story line, I'd recommend final fantasy cos that's also fun and the stories kick mgs's ass and gameplay to bits. y did u take my past comment so personaly, did u create mgs or summit? as a general comment, I wud like to ask, if anyone started to cry cos sum1 else said a game was overated, would you think that peron crying is 1.retarded or 2.has no friends so spends his days scowering the internet looking for people he mite then be able to call friends
