Yep you know it plus i just found 109 cases at blockbuster so im definately gonna be printing alot of inserts i also got some printable verbs from meritline with the rebate making them 15 or 16 dollars for a 50 pack spindle in the -R (woulda prefered the +r media but i couldnt turn down printable verbs at that price) im curious to why +R printable cost so much more than the -R and why the +R are almost never on sale.

Office Depot is running a 3 day sale (June 22-24) on their Sony DVDs for $14.99 (spindle of 50). My store only carries the 16X MIT which code out as Sony D21. However I have been getting consistent quality scans on my Benq 1650 of 96-97% which ain't bad but not as good as the TYs.

Geroid04- I hear you on the cases ! got 88 last time myself ! as to why The DVD+R's are more expensive Atleast on line ? Someone said that DVD+R has to meet certain minimum quality standards to be sold as DVD + R media . Kinda like Vhs tape to carry the Vhs logo it must meet the minimum standards! Where as the DVD-R media does'nt have to ! Don't know if it's true ? but could be the reason ! You could always buy retail - Bestbuy ect... then + or- same sale prices! Good luck & enjoy !!!

@ Geroid04 and BIGTOXY69,
I too went on my first dumpster dive at blockbuster, I went to the one a little ways away from me and found a interesting box filled with DVDs, not cases but dvds. There were about 150 DVDs in a box that made them look like they were spindled, but for some reason they put the dvd through some kind of devices that squeezes little impressions on the dvds rendering them unreadable. Anyways in another box there i found a few of the cases for the shredded DVDs with the inserts and pre-owned 7.99 stickers and what not. Thats it for there, but at the blockbuster by my house I found 2 bags full of cases, 139 total cases with many different variations like white and black cases, and a few green ones and 4 Double ones as well.
Happy burning (Sorry for being so off topic but the Dumpster Diving thread got closed the hour before I could post my findings)

Glad you got a good find on the cases " Free is free " to Quote Jvc! Yeah they run those DVD's Through the dimple-ator of death ! Talk about Makin' coasters! The ones I found were still in the cases but deffinitely Death-Dimpled ! was the move crash ! about 100copies -with three that were unscathed . Found a couple of movies intact ! including one ion french! & one that was a Indian movie in Hindi But those are few and far between ! A little hint though if you find a homemade envelope looking thing made from the generic blockbuster case labels in your dumspter drab them I found that they had dvd's in them in excellent condittion ! I don't know why Blockbuster does'nt just mark down the ones they end up dimpling to like a $1.00 or so and sell them but Maybe it's like the cover thing with paper back books ? anyways Good luck & dive safe !

Me thinks it is past due time for Bigtoxy's diving forum, get the mods to sticky it and compare notes from sucessful plunders, differing strategies, schedules of best harvest times, and of course, eluding the ever watchful security people. Heck, we could even invite the Discovery channel along once to document the whole thing, they'll do almost anything now to fill the airtime they have.

I picked up the MAGNAVOX DVD+R from office max on friday for $13.99. I Have burned about 8 of them with no problems on any. Im using a Optiarc burner that came with the Dell. (Might be a generic NEC brand), Software im using is dvdshrink, AnyDVD and dvdclone for the burn. Quality seems fine to me. Again-No Problems. Noticed magnavox dvds were made in Taiwan if anyones interested.

@BIGTOXY69, Ill keep that envelope tip in mind when im diving for cases again. I still dont see why they dont sell them for a dollar like you said or donate them to a nonprofit or something, its amazing what companies will throw away, My best friend father found a HDTV a while back they were about to load with a forklift into a dumpster and asked them if he could have it in his truck instead of the dump, got it and took it to a tv repair shop where they repaired it and put a new screen on the front of it for 300$ for a 60 inch HDTV. Talk about waste.

Went Blocbustering & diving Thursday - Found a box in dumpster with 33 movies still in lockable cases with the lock (yellow stick) still in the case ! Couple of copies of several titles various genre's ect .. I had to completely destroy the cases to exstract the movie with 95% of them ! I really hated to lose the cases ,but cases I got so no biggy ! Question anyone have any ideas on where to get one of the lock removers for theese ? Actually I think they were stuck/frozen which is probably why they dumped 'em ? anyway thought you'd like to know! Ciao!

Its good that you found cases and with dvds intact! a very rare occurrence indeed. I noticed that you can jam a pen in the holes of the security lock code, my library uses those idiotic cases and when they first switched to them the library lady didnt unlock my dvd and it was saturday. didnt notice till i got home and I tried to unlock it and succeeded (although it took a while).

Jondrew- Thanx for the information ,but I dont think that we're talking the same typle case lock ( Yellow Stick Blockbuster Type) Anyway Though it pained me To Apply the Dismemberment plan to those cases to retrieve the movies I have more cases! Kind of like opening Oysters to get to the pearl you really are'nt worried as much about hurting the shells! Probably was why Blockbuster Dumped 'em in da' first place Cause the Bleepin Lock was stuck LOL! Anyways I managed to save a few cases out of the batch that the lock came out easily so it was'nt a total loss ! Thanx again Jondrew and keep on posting ! LaZers !
