this is not about forum rules,we have no problem with the forum rules and as you can see we have all complied...this is about the state that aD is in and why it isn't changing...it probably wont change(hopefully it does and soon) and if it dont then i am sure a lot of the people from this thread will be gone from these forums, you know tocool the ones that actually help people....anyways when somebody important makes a post i will make another one....

Since I don't agree with your "opinion" I can't post because I am not "important"............The mods can do what they want..If dRD didn't like the way this site is running then he would change it........Jeez I swear just because of you get Pms about your sig being over the limit...so what. They do that to alot of people...I have gotten Pm'd before because of my sig.......There are over 500,000 members they can't catch all of them....And they usually see the Seniors and Addicts posts.......because they are dedicated,people that don't post alot aren't really noticed by the mods.

you know just cause you called in the mods to suspend me doesnt mean the problem is going away..im trying to save aD, if that means i have to be an internet matyr (lol) so be it...
suspend me while kids in the consoles go around cursing and insulting addicts and seniors...they get off with warnings...

I must concur with a lot of the other sentiments here. I've got over 6,000 posts, 5 stickies, and drawn a ton of site traffic for AD, and I feel my input should matter. The same person reported my sig twice. I posted an angry blog about it, but kept any malcontent out of the forums or PM's to the staff. The first time I resized the sig, the second time, I refused, my exact words were F**k it, ban me. DDP comprimised with me. I felt the comprimise was reasonable, so I complied.
This is a microcosm of a much bigger problem. The mods who frequent the console forums know what I mean. There's BS advice being passed along, flamewars left and right, spammers, and blatant attempts to inflate post counts. There are now flamewars in shoutboxes. What has happened to this site? I joined about a year ago, and it wasn't like this back then. People used to have repsect for one another, and the courtesy to respect differences of opinion. With all those things going on, put yourself in our position. There are much bigger problems here than sigs a couple kB's/lines over the limit. I'll tell you what it looks like to me. It looks like a desperate attempt to gain control. Why else would the staff cater to obviously petty requests? If a reported infraction is obviously petty and motivated by personal grudges, why is it enforced? By acting on these trifling requests, the staff legitimizes these petty, wannabe mods. There are bigger fish to fry. If the goal of the sig nonsense is to take back the forums, it's pointless. The console forums are not a lost cause. They could be taken back with hard work. If the spammers, noobs, flamers, and post inflaters were banned repeatedly, warned, and disciplined for their constant idiocy, things would change. I get the sense the mods are tired. I don't blame them. I feel the problem lye higher up. There's only 5 active mods, no way they can police the massive forums here. Why not bring in more dedicated people? Why not give mods the power to IP ban people? I feel the admin here has long since given up. There are obvious avenues which are left untraveled. A moderator is a voluntary position, if the people getting paid to work here don't care, why should people who don't? This may be my coup de gras here. So be it, I can leave this site knowing I left it better than when I got here. Peace.

actually for the good members we dont really mind so much about a sig being a bit over the limit. the thing is guys, if we let a few people slide on it and not other we get tons of PM's and complaints about unfair treatment blah blah blah, you know the drill. i have never once asked a person to change their sig, personally i dont care what the hell a sig has in it as long as it aint porn or something. obviously someone somewhere is getting complaints or you wouldn't be bothered. instead of whining and bitching about it, just do us all afavor and just change the damn sigs if you're asked to do so, if not then dont worry about it. if we see it's a problem we will correct it either by just asking or removing you period. usually we dont care, but if someone complains it's much easier just to ask you to change your sig than to hear 50 people whining that you get treated one way and they get treated another. most likely if you are asked to chage your sig, it aint even about the sig it'self, more like we're sig of hearing the 50 people that got booted cry and whine that "my sig was smaller than so-and-so's and I got banned and he didn't". see what i mean?

Bunch of paranoid androids !! You was asked to comply w/ forum rules .. and any image in question was never just .6kb over .. they were taking the p*ss over 50k (and had loads of lines of text aswell).
Much like most of you in here , the ones that are bitching anyways.
Just to refresh your memory :

And as to the question of helping around here (I guess you mean replying to threads) .. I was doing that when you was still in diapers/nappies.
I have other work to do now .. like retitling threads such as 'help me' & occasionally sorting out reported user threads .. and if not I can be found giving live help on IRC ad channel.
So I feel quite happy with what I do & if you were to concentrate on yourself & not on what I do then you wouldn't have been PM'd - huh

This has nothing to do with sigs itself. It hasto do with the fact that mods are wasting more energ on people that dedicate time to improving aD then those morons that come here with the intent to flame others, which results in aD losing potentially valuable members.

the last time i checked our job as mods was to enforce the rules of this site, the sig limit is one of the rules. just because one person has an opinion about a sig and the other doesn't, it really makes no difference. our job here is pretty simple and clean cut, enforce the rules, move on. there is no grey area on the rules. some members who help alot and dont whine and bitch al lthe time, we do let slide on their sigs, hell we got guys here that have specific permission to advertise in their sigs and everyone knows that is a clear violation of the rules, but the members allowed to do it have proven time and time again to be valuable assets here, so again we look the other way on the little things.
this is the bottm line, like it or not these are the rules of this site, no one is making you stay here. if you feel our sig issue is too much to handle, then feel free to move on to somewhere else where the sig rules are more relaxed. we run this site the best we can, but nowhere does it say we have to, or are even able to please all the people all of the time.

Ok people, whatever grievances we have here, let's not make things bigger than they are. This is a website, nothing more. If AD was my number one priority, that would say a great deal about the emptiness of my existance. I see both sides of it, and everyone here has a right to their opinion. Let's not belittle each other, then we're no better than the idiots who've taken over the console forums.

Looks like i missed some stuff here overnight; not overriding darth, i feel it's necessary to add something, so just gonna sneak this in and close the thread again; there are obviously people here who have way too much time on their hands, but it's energy diverted into the wrong things. What i and the other mods would like to see is more help and less snivelling from the posters who are supposedly helping this site so much. Lately everyone's favourite bee in their bonnet is the console forums, but i don't see enough proof of help from enough people in the 'offensive reports' to make enough of a difference. I make no attempts to hide what i think of those particular forums, but it's not the forums themselves that are the problem, not really even the age group of the majority of people in there so much; it's the lack of substantial reporting that should be going on via the 'offensive report' button, that's letting those forums down and letting the pointless idiots seem to win.

As for everything going on in the console forums, I hear alot of bitching and crying but I see very few offensive post reports. Us mods have a finite amount of time to spend here and we can't spend 100% of it reading each and every post in the console forums because there's an entire site to look after as well so how about, instead of putting time into threads like this, WE USE THE OFFENSIVE POST REPORTS AS OFTEN AS WE NEED TO.
Rules are rules people and if the theory goes that time and posts meant you could bend them then I should be able to post porn, say fuck all I want and have a 600X800 sig but I don't because I don't ask people to follow rules I won't follow.
I haven't been here for a day or so because I was almost put in the hospital for a severe reaction to a new medication and on top of that I got food poisoning and if that isn't enough I may not have a place to live in two weeks so if you guys have nothing better to do than bitch about sigs and someone being rude then I don't know what to tell you.
