thanks a lot for this guide. However i am having a problem, i am getting the following message on my psp after installing a wallpaper from nextpsphacks.com, when i run x flash i get this; YOU MUST USE ONLY VALID BACKGROUNDS WITH XFLASH,ANY NEW BACKGROUNDS YOU INTRODUCE SHOULD BE TESTED WITH A FIRMWARE LAUNCHER, AND BE NO LARGER THAN 480 X 272. XFLASH HAS DETECTED AN INVALID OR MISSING BACKGROUND FILE. YA GET DA BOOT. SEE YA.

It needs to be a 24 Bitmap image. So open the image in paint and and click File>Save As..>background.bmp and under where you want to call you image it should say a type of image. Click the little arrow and change it to 24 Bitmap(*bmp,*dib)Make sure you save it in the Xflash/modified folder and it should work. Also make sure it is not to big.
The dimetions should be smaller than the PSP screen. Good Luck.

yo man i aw your video thats tough!!!!!!!!!! do u have the the dual boot 1? and also when ever you wanna play a game u hold left triger go 2.71 and load games hlding 'home + right triger or somn'? if so thats amazing!!!!!! can take your mail addy and you can talk me through it somn? thanks man post mail me or somn!
and also do yuo have to have xflash in the memory card while your insatlling the POC? and then do you have to flash everything and do everything on POC and then unflash the POC then put dual boot firmware? also does the dualboot firmware have to be flashed when devhook is already on the memry card? sorry i have alot of question really interested in this!

I install POC so if something does wrong in X-Flash, you can fix it using the POC Recovery Menu. After modifing your PSP with X-Flash, uninstall POC and put a better custom firmware (dual boot)

yo man thanks alot hey i PM u reply back? and also when i have the POC and flashing gameboots and stuff with x flash shall i have a 1.5 eboot in the update fodler just incase something goes rong and i have to use recovery to update to 1.5 again?
Also when i unflash the POC firmware do i insatll devhook then straght after install dualboot? or should i format memory stick insatll dual boot then devhook?

You don't have to worry about having the 1.50 update because you can go into USB in recovery mode so you can actually tranfer the update. Install devhook and then if you want to install the dual boot.

aight and when you boot 2.71 you dont have to open devhook and stuff you just pres HOME+L right? also i dont have a memory card yet so can i still play via usb?

Very good guide, simple and easy to follow, thanks for posting.. I have been using dh 0.44 for a while, time for me to upgrade I think :D
I still haven't got the custom fw bit down, but I'm gonna try to figure that out.

Yeah i followed you horrible instructions and i'm not trying to be a dick but about 90% of the people who post guides are never specific or always forget to add one important detail to get a program to work. anyways i have the x flash installed and its not my first time installing homebrew but you wasn't very specific on where to put the proof file also it brang another folder called src which has a boot folder, flasher folder, libpspvshbridge_2 folder, libs folder, and recovery folder. do i need this folder if so where do i put it cuz the reedme doesn't mention it. also when i start the custom firmware it keeps saying file vhmain does not match when its doing the fash mode

Sparsh, edit your sig to conform to forum specs of 50k.
2. An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall.
4. If you want to use both text and image in your signature the image should not be more than 500 pixels wide and 100 pixels tall, and you can use up to three lines of text.

i think 2.71 SE-B is way better. And yes, you need to load 2.71 and then USB. I think i will upgrade this guide so it covers 2.71 SE-B. Keep and eye out.

but with 2.71 you just load game without anything very plain but with the dual boot you press HOME+L to change stuf and booit into any firmware? dont you think little things like that makes the psp more custom?

Having installed devhook 0.46 (using the nifty v1.1.1 ultimate installer) I was about to install the harley g's dual boot files when i got a little confused. I unzipped the downloaded file to produce a PSP folder, that contains 2 sub folders, GAME & SYSTEM. Exactly where & what do I do with these folders? Then once I've copied these folders into their correct location on the PSP, what do I do??? Sorry for the silly questions, but I don't want to damage the PSP. Out of interest, when I installed devhook 0.46, there were loads of options for other installation e.g. bleach custom pack, devhook 0.46 update(which I chose not to install). What are they for? BTW, this was a new installation of devhook, not an upgrade. Sorry for all the questions, but you seem to know what you're doing, you speak/write English AND most importantly, you reply to questions - go to the top of the class....

Have I got this right as your message is a little confusing (for me at least)- I copy these 2 folders (System and Game) into the PSP folder on the PSP? THen what do I do???

i put the harley G's custom firmware on my psp now and it boots into Recovery while holding R on startup but it wont boot into 2.71 while holding L why? im sure its the Harley G's C/ firmware becuase in recover it said it was by Harley whats the problem?

So franki you have any ideas?it says on recovery thats its by Harley but it wont boot to 2.71 why? and also on the devhook thing i tap home and none of my isos come up! when im in 2.71 (emulated by devhook) i press Home and Set and stuff and none of those briliant things that u said were to happen heppaned! im soo dissapointed can u help me?
