There is a firmware update, this MIGHT help with the media u r using, but more than likely the media is your problem
http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2051
Quote: Destination Media Type: DVD+R (Disc ID: CMC MAG-M01-00) (Speeds: 2.4x, 4x, 6x, 8x)
This media is one of the worst that u can use, also would not go higher then 4x when burning these disks.
U will have better result IF u get better media,
which is
Taiyo Yuden(Online), Verbatims(Only media made in Taiwan that is good) or Any Media that is MADE IN JAPAN(Sony,Maxell,Fuji)
EDIT-Quote: Source File Size: 4,681,416,704 bytes
Also u should change ur Outout File size in shrink so u dont burn too close to the edge, especially with low quality(compatability) disks such as CMC Mag disks. heres a pic how to change it

gronimo18, edit your sig to forum specs ASAP!
1. Text-only signatures should have at most 5 lines of text.
2. An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall.
4. If you want to use both text and image in your signature the image should not be more than 500 pixels wide and 100 pixels tall, and you can use up to three lines of text.

Looks like the disc burned just fine, but failed to verify...you should be able to watch the movie. Might want to give up on the Memorex discs.

Still burning too close to the edge of the disc...reset target size as illustrated by 300bowler.

Still haven't updated firmware.
Please take the advice given...seems as if we are wasting our breath.
Are you using any other programs such as VobBlanker or PGCedit?

I have used dvdshrink and dvddecrypter many times and they worked very well. However, recently when used to copy commercial disks the copies are good but the original discs will not play (after being copied) on my PC. The originals will play on my neighbour's PC or on any dvd player (but not on my 'copying' machine).
Any thoughts, please?

Quote: However, recently when used to copy commercial disks the copies are good but the original discs will not play (after being copied) on my PC.
Using these programs to make backups do not affect the commercial disc in any way....unless there is something loose in your drive that may be rubbing or scratching the disc in such a way that it renders the original disc useless.

Make sure that your firmware is current for your burner and try cleaning both your burner and standalone players.

Thanks Locoeng for very prompt reply.
I have checked my PC dvd drive -- nothing amiss that I can see. The drive is NEC DVD+RW ND-1100A; driver date is 01/07/2001 and driver version is 5.1.2535.0 -- I have tried to update but failed so far.
When the original copied disc is put into dvd drive after copying the PC fails to recognise its presence and says 'Please insert disc'.
Could it be that a change has been made to the registry?? -- very deep waters for me!!
Thanks again for any help.

ddp,
Thanks for reply -- no error codes appear -- the disc (once it has been copied) just does not seem to exist for the PC. However it plays perfectly in another PC.

This is a pretty old drive...try updating the firmware one at a time until reaching the newest instead of jumping from. There was a firmware update as soon as last year, still dated, but might get you burning again. Dl and run this program and post the results so we can make sure we get the right firmware for your drive. I would stay out of the registry for now...a mis-step in there could cost you a new computer whereas a new NEC drive will only set you back $30.

LOL....I should have said; will cause enough headaches that you may want to buy a new PC or take to a "professional" to fix.

Looks like 1.93 from here is the firmware you want to use...as long as your drive isn't a rebadged IOmega.
Work your way up rebooting between flashes...keep in mind to make sure that your drive should be emtpy when flashing. Also this firmware is almost two years old and may not help your cause, but it's worth a shot.
Good luck..

Have you tried blowing a bit of canned air in your burner? I think Loco metioned cleaning your drive.
That "No seek complete" error is what you get when the burner's optics can't get aligned with the groove in the blank. Dust or dirt can cause this.
It may be time for a new burner.
