I tend to disagree a bit with what you've said. Here are the differences:

I read the article you promt me a few days ago, and i think it is exactly what i said in my previous post: "DVD-R is a write-once recordable format which allows excellent compatibility with both standalone DVD players and DVD-ROM drives."

at the end of the article it says:"Hope this helps any of the Newbies that are confused by the different formats. My opinion - go for DVD-R, its cheaper!"

I use DVDR- only for making copies of full original movies. If you use well DVD Shrink, you make perfect and NOT encrypted copies. I dont see any reason at all for spennding more money on DVDR+ when i get perfectly what i want in DVDR-...

I am having that same problem. I am still trying to isolate the cause. And I agree, it is very annoying.

Are you both using Nero?? If so, see if there is an option to stop it ejecting the DVD when the burning is complete.

Nice copy-paste from Anandtech's FAQ you've done there: http://www.anandtech.com/guides/viewfaq.html?i=118

As for cheaper it's really not true anymore. For example Ritek 4x DVD+R are cheaper or cost the same as Ritek 4x DVD-R in UK and the same goes for any name brand media. Sure you can get low quality Princo DVD-Rs cheaper but you can get low quality noname DVD+Rs cheaper too.

Compatibility is, as mentioned in your copy-pasted article, about the same for DVD+R and DVD-R.

With permission and a few edits here and there i might add! Why type it in yourself!

Also, Ritek +R does tend to be slightly more expensive in the UK than -R, whatever deals you may have found on the Riteks.

It's a good manner to provide a link to the original source if you use material that someone else has written.

So where can you get 4x Ritek DVD-R for less than £0.94-£0.98 incl. VAT? Because that's what Arita Ritek 4x DVD+R costs at for example blankdiscshop, bigpockets and digitalpromo.

It states somewhere on that page that where the source was from. Manners or not is irrelevant. Its not like i make moeny out of the site. Its purely there to help people and save me the time of re-writing stuff when i can post a link.
