You're being a gun tease...! :)
-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.

@ Mik3h, I'm definitely still listening to Kraftwerk. I currently have 1974's Autobahn, 1981's Computer World, 1978's The Man-Machine, 1977's Trans-Europe Express, 2001's The Mix and 2005's Minimum-Maximum on my hard drives :)
Hey Dunker, no cold yet - that usually waits till Christmas so I'm lying on the couch sick as a dog while everyone else has a great time opening presents, visiting and eating breakfast. How've you been?
G's having fun hitting all the hick bars there in Casper :P
Definitely hit me up and cruise by when you can G. The 27" LCD was upgraded to a 32" HDTV yesterday and you still haven't seen either of the new PC's running!
Just to let everyone know what G's talking about, I parted out my last system (G got the Thermaltake Tsunami for his new Conroe build) and built two new ones - a Shuttle SB95 V2 with a P4 3.6GHz/2GB DDR2 533/eVGA 7600GT running Windows and the other is a SFF built with a Black Silverstone Sugo, an Abit NF-M2 mATX mobo and an AMD X2 4200+ Socket AM2/ 2GB CAS 4 DDR2 800/BFG 7900GT for running Mandriva Linux. Both were built with silence in my mind and they both turned out great. Both PC's are in a newly renovated room and a bigass new desk should be arriving Tuesday so I'll be posting pics and more detailed specs in the "Where are you sat" thread come Wednesday or Thursday because almost nothing is the same as what's in the last pics I posted there.
Long time no chat Phantom - send me another pm with your chat contacts, I'd like to get them loaded in Kopete :)
I also quit smoking!!! A&W root beer barrel candies are my new best friends :P

Got that cold. Courtesy of my 4-year-old nephew I think, but the GF keeps feeding me hot toddies so I'm ok.
Congrats on not smoking! Keep up the good work.

Great deal on that Opteron but unfortunately I don't have anything that fits a 939 any more. That's alot of horsepower for $350.
At least you have someone to keep the hot toddies coming Dunker. My best option is geestar bringing me 40's and pork rinds.
Speaking of geestar's inside line, the P4 560 I'm using was another one of his freebies - the only markings it has are a few numbers and the word "CONFIDENTIAL".

I loves my Linux. I took the plunge when M$ made me talk to some yo-yo in a foreign land giving me the 3rd degree about where and how I got my copy of XP Pro in order to activate it. I end up reinstalling my copy quite a bit and as time went by M$ made me go through more and more crap to get it activated. I paid well over 100 bones for it years ago and treating a paying customer as a pirate is where I absolutely draw the line. XP will be the last M$ OS I pay for. I'm a die hard gamer so eventually I'm going to need Vista to play the newest DX 10 games so if they're going to treat me like a pirate I've decided in this case I'll go ahead and be that pirate they think I am.
Google "vista eula" and feast your eyes on all the anti-consumer trash it contains. You can only reinstall it ten times and noone at M$ casn give a concrete answer about how their algorithm determines exactly how and when it'll consider a hardware upgrade an install on a new machine. If you do major system upgrades like me all it takes is for Vista to decide the latest upgrade counts as a new machine and you're eating up your activations. Hell, with all the changing and swapping I do I'll use those ten in 18 to 24 months. It's ridiculous to force folks to pay $200 every 2 years.
Back to Mandriva, it's a great Linux distro. I went ahead and shelled out $40 for the Discovery edition that includes LinDVD for playing copyrighted DVDs, Transgaming Cedega for playing windows games and alot of other goodies packaged together making things easier for Linux newbs like me.. It also makes it easy to enable the XGL/compiz desktop which has so much eye candy it'll make your head pop. Go to youtube and search the term "xgl" and you'll find some great videos showing what XGL can do. Here are a couple,
