I got a friend that wants to burn and play 360 games. I got ps2 swapmagic, so i dont think i will have any trouble burning games from the info that ive found. I need to know what kind of mods are available for the 360 console to play the backups. If anyone can fill me in on what is need to play backups and point me in the right direction, it would be great.
then you identify your drive(hitachi or samsung there are a different firmware for which drive)and then you need to plug the drive to your computer to flash the drive for that go to http://forums.xbox-scene.com/ search here for the firmware and how to do it ( i cant be of much help in this because i bought my xbox360 already flashed i didn´t do anything myself)
hello there i am also having a problem backing up my xbox 360 games the set up i have is
pioneer 109 drive
162 dvd drive flashed with the kreon v0.81
ridisc 8.5g media
traxdata 8.5g media
i have extracted the games onto my hardrive using Schtrom and when i come to burning the game it keeps failing at 9 or 10 % i have used about 12 discs trying it different ways only 1 of the discs went up 2 52% but then failed, i have tried img burn and DVD Decrypter and set the layer break ive also tried clonecd but still keeps failing could any body give me any help on what this could be,

I got a nme360 1.2 chip put on my 78 hitachi. I bought a pioneer 111d firmware 1.29 burner and have tried a number of times to burn 3 different games (All which I own). I am using wxripper for the game. I have not encountered any problems thus far with the rips. I then used SS merger 1.6 or 1.7b and cant get the MD5 check to find anything in the database, all I get is a connection error(my brother on the otherhand claims his works and connects to the database and tells me he never actually checks with it.) I then proceed to download a ss.bin and they come up all red. I am using NTSC-U and am in Canada. I have seen many threads where you can still burn with all red. I then merge the files and use NME Associator and inject the iso(unless I use SS merger 1.7b then it does this) I used IMGBURN and set the breakpoint to 1913760 and I can't set the booktype because is a pioneer and does this auto. DVD Decrypter same thing and I tried using clonecd by slysoft and I keep getting Unreadable Disk when I try to play them. I don't know if anyone else as had this problem. Please help. I am going to drop kick this unit across my parking lot.
honestly man.... use xbox backup creator to both read and write your game.... works like a charm everytime... 1 program that does both things... its alot easier than getting 2 programs and it also takes little time!!
yeah but I just bought the pioneer 111d and it does not work with that program. I would have to buy the samsung drives to get this to work would I not?

just wondering, I've got a few titles from newsgroups, but they are all ISOs, no *.dvd files attached.
One of the ISO has an *.ss file attached, but haven't figured this one out.
How do we burn these files if they are missing the *.dvd part?
PS: I've also got one *.360 file which I have no idea how to burn either...
Ok if you are looking for someone personal advice i really do recommend the sammy 162c drive (flashed with Kreon) which lets you copy a 360 disk in 15 minutes using xbox backup creator. This drives costs around 50 bucks on ebay (I know an ebayer who sells them)and it is worth it since I spent about 50 bucks on wasted verbatims before I got this figured out!. It automatically creates the .dvd file and everything you need - I have had 0 problems. But before this I had all the same questions - plenty of isos that still need stealth patching, plus files with .360 extensions which no one here could explain to me!! Plus its no fun doing blind tests with expensive verbatim disks that you turn to coasters. Hey if you want more detailed advice on this method of burning (sammy 162c) then feel free to pm me.
