I own a TA-082 2.71 firmware PSP. Your PSP I am not aware CANNOT do this yet. Unless you somehow upgrade to 2.71.

Didn't do the GTA way, I followed the instructions provided by the easy installer touran made.

Just a simple question, does this guide apply to a 2.60 FW PSP or does it have to absolutely be a 2.71, or is that what the Hen-D file is for ?

I've got the TA-082 MoBo w/ 2.60.

Thanx in adv.

SORRY! ^^; I found out now, I was accidentally deleting the EBOOT file in the UPDATE directory whenever I move the 1.5 eboot and then rename.

I don't get this step...

#9. From the PC copy the contents of C:\HEND\MPRoot to your memory stick root. That's the Removable drive again.

I don't get it, which folder do I copy the HEND files to on my PSP drive? For example my PSP drive is lettered "F". So do I copy the files to F:\PSP or F:\MP_ROOT? Please help guys this is all I need help with thanks so much!

well no matter how bad you want to try you wont get it to work, since the latest downgrade is for 2.71fw, i doubt they've even thought about 3.03 yet.

@KGunner
I am no pro, but i found out this information...

This guide is for users with a TA-082 motherboard. So if you have positively identified it as one but it does not have 2.71 firmware, just download the firmware and upgrade it with your memory stick.

make sure you read this before hand:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/369035

here is the full firmware update for 2.71:
http://dl.qj.net/Firmware-2.71-Firmwares.../8046/catid/163

@Radeonboy
There is a video tutorial about how to install the 3.02 firmware here:
http://www.psphacking101.com/node/47

Be careful, some of the early episodes information are outdated. For instance they say that in earlier episodes there is no hope TA-082, but that was a while back and things have changed since then. So outdated info can be very misleading, and lead to problems down the road (especially to beginners).

here is 3.02 OE-A:
http://dl.qj.net/3.02-OE-A-by-Dark_AleX-...11867/catid/114

here is the patch to 3.02 OE-B:

http://dl.qj.net/index.php?pg=12&fid=11922

There are now ways for non TA-082 motherboards that are bellow 2.71 to reach 1.5 i believe. I found this information somwhere else, ill try digging it up. I think it involves upgrading to 2.71 to go down to 1.5.

be careful. Dont be hasty. READ EVERYTHING FIRST. Again, i am no pro but i hope this helps some people.

[EDIT]

@lk300zman
You cannot do anything with that firmware.

@bio_psp

You can go from 2.71 > 1.5 > 3.02 OE-A > 3.02 OE-B with a TA-082

@sturmars
I have seen a guide around somwhere for non TA-082. I think there is an alternative way other than using the GTA exploit with a 2.60. i will try to find out about it.

[EDIT2]

@sturmars
I was right. There is a guide here about NON TA-082 of any version firmware bellow and including 2.71

http://www.psphacking101.com/forum/viewt...5fabe181134705e

[EDIT3]

Give thanks to everyone who made these hacks and guides. For more info these forums are also good:

When my mem-stick comes on Monday I'm going to attempt this downgrade and have a few questions to make sure I don't brick the thing

1) Does 1.5 eboot, when it gets renamed to Update.PBP have to be case-sensitive? All the other eboot's are all in upper-case. It probably doesn't matter but still.

2)Er...wish me luck!
