Download DVDFab
Here is Link:

Select movie only...No compression will be required...save's movie only to HD...then burn with Nero...

Do Movie Only...then it will work...

Tried it with AnyDVD and DVD Shrink and it burned flawlessly. (movie and menus) But would NOT play, similiar to All the King's Men and The Descent. Opened the folder back up with DVD Shrink under Re-Author mode and copied just the movie.......burned and played FLAWLESSLY.

I've had problems with it too. I also have AnyDVD (6.1.0.2) and DVDShrink. I get a burn error as soon as the burn starts. So I tried backing up another disk with no problems.

I also tried ripping the files with DVDDecrypter, but then Shrink wouldn't even open the files.

I'll try again, and check back later. Any suggestions?

I really don't know what's all the fuss about "CRANK", but as usual, DVDFab Decrypter (FREE) ripped it "smoothly" within 13 minutes.

Is it just me or is there anyone else? I guess I must be the only one with success using DVDFab Decrypter.

I didn't even need to transcode or encode CRANK at all. I burned it straight via Nero Burning Rom. Again, as usual, I have VobBlanker deleted and blanked out all useless junks, except "Main Movie + Menu." I even went as far as deleting some useless menus as well.

(CRANK, US Region 1): screenshots of how beautiful everything processed.

Alkohol i was wondering if you could do a complete burn? where u dont remove anything from the movie, and see if it works. Im kind of partial to the whole dvd. Just been having problems with crank.

so if u could find a way to burn this movie without removing anything(yes i know its gonna be a lower percent), please post.

So I like to keep as much of the DVD's as possible but I also don't think I have Nero Recode. Is there any other way to burn this DVD succesfully?

Since I always seem to ask questions I will just put this into here to help everyone that helps me out....

Yes you can rip and backup a "full disc" or to your desire, if followed the above little guide.

I used to backup "full disc" in the past, but I've found that nearly 99.99% most of them are useless, therefore, since I got addicted to VobBlanker, I vowed to delete and blank out all (any) useless junks (i.e. FBI Warnings, rating screens/logos, previews/advertisements, even useless extras/feature, etc.)

Apparently, all I care for is the "quality" and "longevity" of all my backups, so I'm basically 95% "Main Movie + Menu" and the other 5% I'll keep "Main Movie + whatever I want to keep."

Best of luck!!

UPDATED:

@kronoz311

I've just tested transcoding and backing up a "full disc" via Nero Recode and it's perfectly fine. However, I'm not impressed with the quality on the final result via transcoding a "full disc". The compressions are really high, so I deleted them after Nero Recode had transcoded.

With 57.3% on video quality, meaning you'll need to transcode 42.7% of compressions. With Nero Recode's settings "AA + HQSR + Assign Best Quality to Main Movie" or simply use Recode's AEC Changer to "Maximum Smooth" should be acceptable. Again, mabye it's only me, but like I said; "all I care for is quality and longevity." However, the choice is yours.

No, not necessary. If you don't have Nero Recode, then you can simply use DVD Shrink. Again, if you're going for a "full disc", then I recommend using DVD Shrink's enhancements to "DA + AEC + Maximum Smooth" and you'll be fine. It'll be a little slow, but you'll be more satisfied with the final resutls.

Best of luck!!

I have to say, you have got to try www.1clickdvdcopy.com and download DVD43 @ www.dvd43.com. I haven't had any trouble whatsoever. I have used DVD Decrypter, AnyDVD, DVDFab, Shrink, etc. They all pretty much work but 1clickdvdcopy is extremely easy to use...and very reliable.

I've had the same problem my self copied menu+Movie, and it would not play. But, alas a solution has occured! well, kindof this works for CRANK only!! Copy Crank The Movie only and select all the subtitles and audios (not the menus). I used DVD Shrink And AnyDVD
now that you have a movie with subtitles and audio just click on my link open the file and copy my menus to the folder you put crank in.

I got the wide screen (Crank)version and backed it up with DVDfab ,the main movie actually turned out to be quite small. I have also used Nero for the recode.
If you are new to backing up with recode make sure you set the dvd size to custom and set it between 4300 or 4360 gb. Less problems with the movie skipping (Burning close to the edge).

I notice allot of people Decrypt to the drive, then Vob Blanker ,then the coding (dvdshrink/nero recode).

I have never tried Vob Blanker before,If someone could tell me (Dumb question), If you back the movie up to the hard drive (rips ok). what would Vob Blanker be used for,if you know it would pass through shrink just fine?

Also, Does anybody prefer shrink to Nero recode? I notice sometimes the picture can turn out a bit more rough with shrink even with analysis on?

@Roadkill,
Shrink and Nero Recode share the same developer, Shrink was the older version which is no longer updated, Nero Recode is updated everyonce in a while, but both rely on other software to break thru the encryption and or protection methods. Personally I prefer Nero Recode over the two, but my all time favorites are in order of preference, ANYDVD/CloneDVD. then Ripit4me/CloneDVD. However, ask 20 different people, you'll probably get 20 different answers as to which is preferable. My advice, try all of them and buy the one that you like. I believe eveyone has a free trial period so you can test drive it and stick with the one that works for you the best.
