Hello;
I am new at this whole thing i have seen some great info here. Thanks for that. Basically i have sucessfully copied several movies using DVD Shrink and Decryptor. Until now i haven;t had a problem. First i got a "dvd shrink has encountered an error and cannot continue" so i used decryptor was able to copy to hard drive. Wehn i went back to shrink i was still unable to open with a "invalid data in file" message. From what i can see shrink and decryptor can copy new movies on there own. I guess my questions are what should i do now? What else do i need? Where can i get. I do have Nero and roxio as well as iso buster(which i have never used) Thanks for any help.

cavic22,
You asked the same question in another thread. Try not to double post as that can get you in trouble w/ the Mods and it is against forum rules

MzLucky-
You should have started a new thread. But if you go to http://www.ripit4me.org and download that program it should work. It will also download another program called FixVTS in the same folder as RipIt4Me.
PacMan777 has a great little tutorial he will be happy to put in the thread with pics if need be.

Too many newbs were losing the path to FixVTS or just not following instructions and using the zip files to install instead of the installer. With the latest version, 1.7.0.0, RI4M incorporates the FixVTS code into the RI4M program. FixVTS no longer appears separately as before. The software still does the same good job. I liked it with the FixVTS in the folder but separate, but they needed to make the setup more foolproof I guess. Here's one Car.Mike pointed out for me, it's an all in one installer for everything needed to operate RipIt4Me, plus MenuShrink. http://www.snapdrive.net/files/60656/download/AIO_v3.0.zip
I downloaded it but haven't had a chance to check it out yet. Norton said it was virus free and there's nothing in the download but the AIO exe file. The all in one installer came from here.

I was going to say, it looks like you have a scratched or dirty disc. There's also the possibility of a bad press. I've seen them all. A scan will tell if it's bad sectors with a bad press. A visual check should tell on scrathes and if the disc could use some cleaning and polishing.

Software programs such as Nero have utilities in their tools that will do the job. The freeware DVDInfoPro includes a disc scan utility. In the picture below click the icon in the red box and you get the test screen shown. It's just a matter of having the disc in the designated drive and click Start. The error(s) should correspond to an area approximate to the problem on the disc. For instance, if the error is at 50%, it should appear half way through the graph of the disc. An occasional bad sector won't stop things, but if it's a larger area of clumped bad sectors, it can stop a read.

Other scan utilities are similar to this one.

PacMan777-
I agree with you on the Install process. The new installation that they have available is nice, but most people are quick off the mark and do not read the page. There is another way to do it. Maybe this will help.
Edit: I removed pics because the new version of RipIt4Me is different than the pics I had to offer. Thanks for letting me know PacMan777! You know that I don't use that program very often!

PacMan777-
That program with Menu Shrink is fine if you like still menus. Personally, I modify my menus so that particular program does not help me. However, it may be a good program for newbies that don't have all of the advance programs along with the good old free ones that we do!

I don't use menushrink, I just noted it was there. Personally I don't think editing menus makes enough difference to be worthwhile. Besides some of those menus can ge interesting. Did you watch Open Season? LOL Even the opening for the menu was funny. The nice aspects of the "all in one installer" are it loads everything needed and the version of Shrink installed supports ImgBurn. The only other way to get ImgBurn support is to find the Shrink exe download that supports ImgBurn and install it in the Shrink folder or do some file swapping between Decrypter and ImgBurn. Both those seem to cause problems for the PC challenged.
Now for the bad news. You need to change your pictures and description. You used RipIt4Me version 1.6.9.0. In the new version, 1.7.0.0, FixVTS and it's path no longer come into the equation. The FixVTS code is incorporated into the RipIt4Me program. Instead of FixVTS settings in Preferences, there's now VOB settings.

Thanks PacMan777-
I did as you suggested. You know that I don't use that program very often, so keeping up with the changes is a little more difficult! It seems that I need to download the new version so that I will be a little more up to date!

It's best to leave the check for update feature on. That way when you go to use the program, it lets you know if there is an update. Seems like version 1.6.9.0 didn't last long. Those were good captures, you should do them over with the new version. I don't think they'll change the preferences too soon.

Yeah, I have the check for updates feature turned on, however, I never really run the thing!! I'll download the new update and replace the pics for future questions.
