Does the data.dxar have to be unique to your PSP? As in only generated on your PSP?
I'd advise you download from here http://www.psp-hacks.com/ , on the first page a few posts down is OE-C, and also links to the 1.5 and 3.03 updates.
Read the readme and good luck.

hi guys,
I just purchased a new psp with 3.03 oe on it. trouble is i cant get any of my memory card games to register on the system. One thing i noticed when holding down the right top button on start up was an auto loader for games... Is this to make memory stick games work? whenever i enabled this the psp screen would go black and turn off after approx 10 secs. Any suggestions please???? is there any chance that im being stupid and i should make special files for games on memory card or something or is my firmware faulty?
Thanks in advance

* AVC videos bitrate limit patched. The firmware limited the bitrate of avc videos to only 768 Kbps. OE now forces the limit to be 16384 Kbps. (Note: this doesn't mean than the psp can handle such a high bitrate, this means than they won't show error. I don't know which is the real maximum bitrate than the psp can handle at full speed)
* Speed of OE boot is now ~3 seconds faster than previous versions. (without plugins)
* CPU speed of XMB can now be changed.
* Wifi can now work at 333 Mhz!
* Added access to flash 0 and 1 via usb in the recovery menu, based on the great idea of USBSSS by Booster. Note that writing is enabled, so this is intended only for advanced users that know what they are doing in each moment.(It is not a great idea to change anything from the kd folder). Because of this addition, the rest of flashing options were removed.
* PSP isos can now be deleted as any normal memstick games. (also the size of the iso now shows fine when you press triangle->information).
* When formatting memory stick, GAME150, GAME303 and ISO directories will be automatically created!
* Changes in internal HEN core:
o If a EBOOT.PBP with a plain DATA.PSP had a data.psar, modulemgr took as size of the executable the size of data.psp+data.psar. Fixed. (this fix enables psx games to have plain data.psp without causing a memory error).
o Added a couple of patches found by Tyranid. One allows syscalls instructions to be used in kernel mode without causing a crash. The other allows sceKernelQueryModuleInfo to work with sceInit and previous modules.
My PSP is now 3.02 OE-B, can i straight away upgrade to this "3.03 OE-C??"
yea you can

Cintro mods do not work with 3.03 OE-C, yet. X-flash is dead in the water until it gets an update also. One thing I have noticed is that when I tried to change my coldboot.vag and ended up with a screwed up boot sound. It plays part of the original and then it plays mine. Of course I could have likely screwed it up during the process.
These are the mods I have been able to reinstate inside 3.03 OE-C: Icons and text, Background 01-12.bmp, Fonts, Memory stick gameboot mod and the Reboot prx mod. Though the reboot mod works, it seems to have some problems as in the button combos seem to be switched. The original one I installed on 3.02 OE-B used X to reboot and L+X to shutdown. Now X will shutdown and L+X will reboot, it seems a little strange to me but it still works.

XFlash isn't dead in the water, it's dead for good. As long as you can edit your flash memory by USB, you don't need any applications like XFlash anymore. I said this in another forum, but this is the very reason I think Dark_AleX was getting greedy for the attention he was getting - b/c PSP Filer and XFlash did a good job of flashing files to your your PSP, but now w/ OE-C, Dark_AleX has taken away the need to use those other apps, thus putting those other developers "out of business", so to speak. It's more convenient this way, but still he has put Booster out, and Booster created a milestone in homebrew/hacking history. So pretty soon, he will basically have nothing to contribute to the scene anymore. Art is done, and so the author of PSP filer is done. A good upgrade to OE, but at the same time a slap in the face of many ppl other than you, the end user. How angry would YOU be?

X-flash still has loads of use for the beginners. PSPfiler on the other hand is worthless now. It simply is easier to use the recovery console to write to flash. But X-flash should receive an update for 3.03 OE-C support because it can combine several firmware changes all in one sitting. I personally used it for my background, debranding the bootscreen and changing the fonts. Maybe some out there know how to manually remove the Sony branding and how to create a working 01-12.bmp, but there are some that do not. That is why I think that X-flash should hang around. Just because 100's of people don't use the tool, it doesn't make it worthless to the one's who do.

Here's my question, I downgraded mine from 2.7 after having devhook for a while and then I upgraded all of the way up the ladder to 3.03 OE-C, and I love (God Bless Dark-Alex) however, my roomate has 2.82. Now, I know he can upgrade to 3.03 and downgrade to 1.5 to get all of the way to where I am, but can he just upgrade to 3.03 and then to Dark-Alex's open edition 3.03? I'm assuming he has to downgrade first to 1.5, and I'm probably right, I just didn't want to risk anything.

No, if you could go from 3.03 to 3.03oe-c then there would be no need for a downgrader or stupid questions. You have to downgrade there is no getting around it.

Uggg as my buddy preaches, "no risk, no reward." Nobody likes to flash their psp and risk a brick, but guess what, we have. If your scared about bricking your psp then by all means enjoy your current firmware and don't stress flashing. Either do it or don't, none of us "wanted to risk it" but we did, and now are having fun ;)
