Download this create a folder called UPDATE in your PSP,s GAME folder and place the EBOOT in there, and then run it.

Yes, an unpatched version which has an update of 2.00 on it.
Currently this is the only way of downgrading 3.03

OMG! the moment ive been waiting for! i can finaly play homebrew again.
But. how do you know what version of GTA is the right version to get before i buy it. Theres plenty of used LCS at my local EB but i can also get it new for the same price.

At last!!! An end to the endless "Can I downgrade?" threads. Yes you can! How much are the prices of LCS gonna get jacked up on ebay now, lol?
Feel kind of bad for Sony, they have got so pwnt since xmas, what with OE and all these downgraders.

Current bid price £42 and 11 hours to go, it was upto £77 but the bid got retracted. I can buy a 1.5 PSP for less than £100, got to love people.

That is actually the best thing I have ever seen! And the bidder has 0 feedback, so is probably a noob with too much money aching to downgrade his 3.03. That's on my watchlist now, can't wait to see the end price.

Some ground-rules:
This downgrader is for v3.03 firmware only. But if you have v2.81 - v3.02, no problem - you can just upgrade to v3.03 to use the downgrader.
You need a copy of the unpatched GTA:Liberty City Stories UMD. No ISOs, no patched UMDs, not Vice City Stories. See here for some info on how to check if your version is patched. The most reliable way : the unpatched disks have the v2.0 firmware update on them.
This downgrader is intended to enable homebrew. Homebrew is NOT the same as piracy. Don't be a thieving loser - buy the games you play.
The downgrader will work on all current PSP hardware (TA-079 - TA-086). Patching of TA-082+ is automatic in the downgrader.
You downgrade at your own risk. There is always a chance of bricking, although we have done everything we can think of to make this process safe.
Full instructions for downgrading are included in the Downgrader_HOWTO.txt file in the ZIP file. Read them carefully! You will need:
The 3.03 downgrader package
Official v1.50 Firmware Update EBOOT
Official v3.03 Firmware Update EBOOT (only if your PSP is not 3.03 already)

Remember to check out the PSP Homebrew Database for information on homebrew that can be run on your newly-downgraded PSP!
Warning: After downgrading from 3.03 to 1.5, there are some remnants of 3.03 left in flash. If you later try to re-upgrade to 3.03 and repeat the downgrade, things will break. At some later point, we will work on a cleaner that will remove these extra files. Until then, enjoy! (Don't worry, upgrading to 3.03 OE firmwares still works fine).

Noobz rock man. I went out picked up GTA-LCS at EB used for $17.99. Before I bought it I made sure it had the 2.00 firmware update on the UMD buy asking the guy at EB if I could load it up first. I followed Noobz directions to a T and downgraded to version 1.5. From there I updated it to the new version by Dark_Alex 3.03oec which rocks. Few things to note for noobs like myself READ and READ carefully. The noobz directions are good but you still need half a brain.
- Copy the contents of the folder MS_ROOT from the 3.03 downgrader ZIP to
the memory stick This means do not just copy the folder to the root level of you PSPs memory card but the contents of that folder to the root level.You may probably already have a PSP folder on your memory stick I suggest backing up the folder to your HD if you have any game saves you want to KEEP!!! In this new PSP folder you will find the UPDATE folder. I saw a post about having to create one this is wrong.
7 - Unzip the 1.50 update to a temporary folder. Rename the EBOOT.PBP to
UPDATE.PBP and copy it to <pspdrive>:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/ . DO NOT
OVERWRITE PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP!You have do download this separately Noobz should have link at Download page.
8 - Load GTA LCS-Make sure it has the 2.00 firmware update and look up info on how to tell by the ULS number even though this may be inconsistent
9 - It should get to loading savegame, then the screen will clear to black
and fill with a light blue colour, then the PSP will reset itself (if
this does not happen see section below)
10 - Check that HEN is running by going to system settings, then to
"System Information" and it should show up as system version
303 HEN
11 - If it is showing up as HEN then go to the memory stick and
run the x.yz update-- This means go to the memory stick on the PSP through game and not connect to the MC through USB.
12 - If you have an unpatched TA-082 or higher motherboard, you will be
prompted to allow the downgrader to patch your motherboard so it
can be safely downgraded. The downgrader will not let you proceed
without patching, if your motherboard requires it.
13 - Before the downgrader does anything to your PSP it will ask
for you to agree to what it is doing, if you no longer want to
continue press the Right Shoulder Button (R-TRIGGER).
14 - Once you have agreed to start the downgrade do not unplug the
PSP, or try and restart it
15 - Once finished the PSP will ask you to press X, and reset itself
16 - If it comes up saying that the settings are corrupt, press x
to continue, this will mean you will need to re-enter the
settings for network connections into your PSP, otherwise go to
step 18
17 - Load the included NetConfigBackup application in your PSP, and select to
restore, this will take the backup that was done of the network config
that was done automatically during the downgrade.
18 - All done now :-) Hopefully you now have a 1.50 PSP. Enjoy it responsibly.
You might ask I have 1.5 PSP now where do I go from there well get Dark_Alex updated firmware. The directions are solid but you need both the PBP files for the 1.5 firmware and the 3.03 firmware and you need to rename them as 150.PBP and 303.PBP and place them in the OEUPDMAKER folder otherwise you will not be able to generate the DXAR which you later need to move in the oeflasher folder. Hope this helps
