after you login to the dlink, go to the advanced tab at the top, and then you can setup the fowarding under the virtual server tab on the left. You have to foward ports 3074 and 88 to the xbox. To prevent problems in the future if you xbox's IP ever changes, you should setup the xbox with a static IP instead of DHCP. To find out what settings to use, in windows, open the control panel, open network connections from there, and then (if you use a wired connection on your computer) right click on "local area connection", and then left click "status". Click the "support tab at the top, then click the "details" button. You will see your computer's IP, then subnet, then gateway, then DNS servers. You need to give the xbox a high numbered IP like 192.168.0.205 (to prevent another computer being assigned the same one from your router). Then use all the same settings for the subnet, gateway, and then (usually) 2 DNS servers. Your xbox will now have an IP that will not change, so the port fowarding will not have to be adjusted in the future UNLESS you change your router and it gives you a different IP.
So, for instance, under the virtual servers section (if you have it in your router, if not, which ever page you use to do port fowarding) when it asks for the IP to foward the port to, enter the IP of the xbox, then it'll ask for the port, enter 88 for the port, end then choose UDP in the drop down for the type. Do the same thing again, using port 3074 and UDP, and then do it a final time using port 3074 and then select TCP. So, a total of 3 separate times, tcp for 3074, UDP for 3074, and then UDP for 88.
Hope this helps - I know networking is tough to understand when you know nothing about it, even if you read all the tutorials out there, it can be hard to understand ... good luck!
