You could try downgrading back to firmware 1.5 as your custom firmware might be corrupted

answer any psp related question. know a bit in C++ written a couple of programs i got 2 psp on is briced and other is original 3.40 firmware.i got a Core 2 Extreme QX6700 with a geforce 8800 GTX PC 2 ipods
and a PS3

it could just be a hardware problem there is always a chance the psp was defective to begin with...my i ask y ur friend sold it he may have notice the psp was goin. if anything try n buy a new psp n get warinty bring back ya old one n get a fresh once, c now u have 2 lol well thats if there arent any serial numbers that need to b checked
