Hi guys,
My cable provider is Magnet entertainment - I live in Ireland - and it's provided via a fibre optic ethernet cable. I've just bought a dreambox 500c, and I was wondering if the ethernet port on the dreambox can be used as the antenna port?

Also, is there anywhere I can find very, very simple instructions regarding setting up the dreambox? I'm very computer illiterate!

Thanks,

James

The ethernet port cannot be used in that way, it's purely for networking. The unit uses a DVB-C tuner.

For Dbox, Starview Software and Help . Check out http://techno-source.co.uk/Joomla/

Oh no!
The lying charlatan on the website said it was possible.

So do I have any options at all, given that my cable comes in through a fibre optic cable?

This sucks!
Thanks for your help

There is no option. IPTV via ethernet is not so easy hackable.

What program did you use to autoupdate when your service provider changes keys? Also, what are the steps to record to hard drive from DB500C?

The 500c auto updates, when keys roll. You dont need to do anything. Its not liek the 500S version which you may need to ftp cams over.

I agree ^^^ If i wanted to check out advertisements, I wouldn't come to this place.

I'm just wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to get ESPN or ABC on any of these boxes? I don't mind spending a bit of money if it'll get me what I want. I'm essentially looking for american channels where I can get american sports such as Basketball and Football... yes I know Sky carry it and NASN carry some, but I'm actually looking for american feeds that I can get. Thanks for any help.
