:D im makin u busy sry :D
Hey dont worry about it, i made the guide so i gotta answer the questions right? :P Once you downgrade to 1.5 your motherboard is permanently patched and is no longer considered a TA-082... its an everyday motherboard, all hacking styles can be done.

@ KerryPSP..

Quote:
5. Copy the newly named UPDATE.PBP to the folder GAME that you created earlier. I'm required to copy the "UPDATE.PBP" to folder "GAME", "UPDATE", aren't I right?

[ms:\GAME\UPDATE.PBP = right ^_^]
[ms:\GAME\PSP\UPDATE\UPDATE.PBP = wrong -_-]

Ok, well I dont kno what your saying here.. because in the first part your saying that you should put it in a folder called update, in the game folder on your mem stick.. Then you say that your not supposed too.. To ease the stress and clear up any confusion it doesn't go in the update folder, just directly in the game folder. Such as this (ms:\GAME\UPDATE.PBP)

Quote:
6. Exit to your PSP and run HEN-D by going to the photo menu and entering the HEN-D folder in there.
What do you mean by saying "EXIT to your PSP", does it mean we run HEND-D by PSP (not by PC).
Your exactly right, that is what it means. You go on your psp over to the photo menu and enter the HEN-D file in there. :)

Quote:
And in step 7, when I press x to alter the key, it appears "1.50 will run on this PSP" what I need to do next. "EXIT" or "WAIT" ( I have been waiting about 5 mins)
Did it ever finish? or do you still have it sitting? I really don't kno what to tell you budd, for me it was like 30 seconds tops.. you sure you did everything right? :P you could possibly check around the forum if its still a problem.. Sry..

Hope I help on the rest tho! :P

Well im pretty sure DA would incorporate the homebrew and iso in to the newest oe.. So my best bet would be a yes

For the following step:

"8. When the program exits back to the XMB run UPDATE X.YZ (I believe in the game folder...not sure)"
I get a black screen that says:

"Extracting special prx's from pbp...
Cannot find UPDATE.PBP"

Anyone have an idea about this because I followed the previous steps to a t. Now my System Software is showing " 2.71 HEN-D"

OK MAJOR UPDATE HERE...... ms:\GAME\UPDATE.PBP

This is wrong :P KerryPSP, im sorry I kno i told you it was right. But i just realized i was wrong!!

ms0:\PSP\GAME\UPDATE\UPDATE.PBP

^^^^^^^ This is the correct way. It goes in the Update folder in your game folder.

hey i found this guide to DGing on psp-hacks for the 2.71 082:
Quote:
·Download these:
Easy TA-082 2.71 Downgrader
TA-082 Downgrader
1.50 EBOOT Update
2.71 HEN-D (Homebrew Enabler Rev. D)

PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE YOUR PSP CHARGER IN AT ALL TIMES

1. Before you start, reformat your memory stick and reset
your default settings.

2.Create a USB connection between your PSP and computer.

3. Copy the UPDATE and idstoragechange folders into /PSP/GAME/

4. Get the official Sony 1.50 eboot and put it in the /PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder with the name of UPDATE.PBP

5. Run HEN-D if you are not already running it.

6. Execute the idstoragechange on the PSP. It needs 75% battery. It will change some keys of your idstorage needed to downgrade the TA-082 PSP.

7. The program will exit to the XMB. Now run the generic downgrade, which will show in the XMB as “Update X.YX” on the PSP.

8. The generic downgrader will also need 75% battery. IT will downgrade your PSP to 1.50.

9. At the end, it will ask you to press X to restart the PSP. Do it.

10. If all went fine, you’ll receive a blue screen telling you to press O. Do it, and re-enter your settings. Welcome to 1.50.
im wondering, the only difference seems to be that yours doesnt include idstoragechanger ... arent you supposed to run idstoragechanger with the ta-082 ?? now i dont know which guide to use!

Ok.. now as you can read, its for a 2.71 downgrade :P I'm pretty sure a 3.40 requires a different downgrading... best look it up instead of using mine..

10. If all went fine, you?ll receive a blue screen telling you to press O. Do it, and re-enter your settings. Welcome to 1.50.
Note: For the next few steps make sure your battery is charged to at least 80% and your charger plugged in.

6. Exit to your PSP and run HEN-D by going to the photo menu and entering the HEN-D folder in there.

7. When that is done, go to the GAME menu and and run the 1.5 enabler. The 1.5 enabler will tell you if you can run 1.5 or not. If it says you cannot press X to alter keys, DO NOT continue with the steps until it says your settings will run 1.5

8. When the program exits back to the XMB run UPDATE X.YZ under the GAME folder.

9. When your PSP has finished downgrading press X to restart your PSP.

These steps show how to do the same thing the other calls idstoragechanger... same step.. i wouldnt trust that one, ive never heard that before.. and everyone that i have helped use mine have successfully downgraded... i would personally go with mine.. it is 100% correct. :P Goodluck

Is this downgrader a non-corrupting downgrader? I've read that the 2.71 downgrader might be. I already did it and had no problems but wanted to make sure. (When I say corrupting, I'm talking about the idstorage stuff that is changed to allow 1.5 to be loaded on the PSP)

@ ebubba...

As far as i kno, the 2.71 is not corrupting, many have used it flawlessly with nothing wrong at all.

dunno much about it

@ Dorkust

First update to 2.71 and then use the 2.71 TA-82 downgrader guide

Download: 2.71 Update

1. Copy the 2.71 Update renamed to EBOOT.PBP to X:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE

2. Run from the PSP

THEN! Use my guide at the beginning of this thread, and you will successfully downgrade your psp to 1.5 and then on to 3.03 at your discretion =)

When you upgrade to 2.71 then you will be able to use my guide, DO NOT try and use it before you do the upgrade you WILL brick your psp.

After the upgrade, to 2.71 and the downgrade to 1.5 your psp's motherboard will be pathced and will no longer be a TA-082... it will be like every other psp mobo.

Hope I helped you out. Happy Downgrading =P
