why would it be required, its just for downgrading, once uve flashed ur psp, the files required are in the flash, not the memory stic
delete them, they're just wasting space

I just thought it was wierd that no one has asked him to downgrade yet.

flash0 is where the recovery menu is located. So if he deleted the whole thing, then shut the system off there is NO recovery mode to toggle in to.
SHoul dbe getting just a black screen and a power light for a few seconds.
Best thing to do is grab a mod chip, install it, then flash 1.5 to psp and remove mod chip.

There should be some kind of Protection from someone deleting their Flash0.
I'm a Noob to the PSP Scene, I successfully installed v3.40 AO-E and off I went enjoying all that it offers, but I didnt go exploring into Flash0 etc..
Flash0 is not something that you can easily find and delete, look at all the steps you have to take before you get to it.
PS: I backed up my Memory Stick and did a format and everything is just fine.
Now here is something interesting. I noticed if I blow away all the folders in my PSP and do a Format, it puts some folders back that I had created manually. How does it remember to do that?

Now: v2.71 -> v1.50 -> v3.40 OE-A

Come on guys, it happens!! There are total newbs out there who know just enough to be dangerous to themselves.
Even though it takes quite a few steps to get to a point where you can delete the Flash0 or Flash1 folders.

OE firmware is not illegal to install on your psp. The package you use to install it is also not illegal DAX just made a program that runs on your psp. It takes the sony fw 1.5 and fw 3.4 and takes the parts it needs to make a mix of the 2. No files being distributed are being altered for distribution on the net. So Sony cant touch it.
If you were to distribute the file that is created for the install or your flash0 backup you would be sending modified sony files around, and that is illegal.
And yes, idf you run a mod chip you can run 2 fw. But why would you want to

well the reason i mite want two is that i was thinking....there's always debates about which fw is better 3.XX OE or 1.50 OE....if i had one i wouldnt have to make the choice..but there are homebrew games ...mario...tetris..etc..can u play these on a fw 3.XX PSP Or JUST 1.50?

u can play them on cf, duh, cf IS 1.5 with whatever the firmware is. so 3.30 oe-a is 1.5 with 3.30
