@BigD13-did you check out that link I posted on here earlier? You can upgrade to 3.03, and then the downgrader has the patch for your motherboard that is TA-082 friendly...

Yeah I looked at that site when I got home last night and I thought I saw somewhere on it that said you didnt want to do it on a TA motherboard. The most confusing thing to me is that so many of the forums i've looked at are a few months old. So my question is whether the information is reliable or not? One thread says use this.. another one I read says to do something else. Confusing. And still - I don't want to brick my PSP.

Here is another link with a tutorial for exactly what you need..I have searched around myself and found that the tutorials are pretty similar to each other they are not verbatim,and granted some are dated a bit- but from what I have found is that you need to upgrade to official 3.03 FW, and then use a dark_alex 3.03 downgrader that has the patch for your particular motherboard, once you do that you get the 1.5 downgrader and your copy of GTA and go to town...
Your chances of bricking are the same as if you updated using Sony's official firmware updates...anything that has to do with modifying your flash files runs a risk..

No problem-I was weary about downgrading mine too...and at that time there wasnt any way to downgrade if you had the TA-082-you were stuck..

hey guys i was just wandering i just upgraded to 3.03 from 2.81 bcuz everyone told me to and i wanted to know for the GTA LCS game can it be greatest hits bcuz i bought one yesterday and it had the 2.60 patch on it so i returned it and then i saw this thread talking about used games so now im thinkin what happeneds if all the used games are greatest hits?

Wait for them to get one that's not. That's about all you can do right now. I got lucky though. When I went to find it they only had one left.

How much is GTA liberty city stories used at Eb now anyways.. Hacking other peoples PSP's is a good way to make profit as long as you dont brick their PSP lol ut to answer your question at this moment you cannot downgrade 2.81 without a GTA but! DONT UPGRADE! IF you upgrade and than the 2.81 downgrade comes out u r screwed it will take a long time before the next downgrade will come out so theres a lil bit of valuable info you might want to consider

Also try borrowing GTA LCS from one of your frends that is what i did and I downgraded my PSP and gave the game back or you can rent GTA LCS from blockbuster if you want it really badly than go on Ebay for the best results

IM CONFUSED!!! ok i had a question if i have the TA-082 mother-board can i downgrade from 2.81??? (i have gta lcs) I DONT WANT TO BRICK i just bought the unpathed version from ebay

You need to upgrade to 3.03 first, then run the 3.03 downgrader. TA-82 is supported.
#1: 2.81 -> 3.03 -> 3.11 DoH (no more :D)
#2: 1.00 -> 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c
#3: Ceramic white 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c -> 3.40oe
Whatever happens, happens...

OK THANX but whenever i try to upgrade i go to memory stick , --- click on psp update ver 3.03 ---- it loads like a regulat game and then after psp screen it goes black and then an error msg come up and says "The game cannot be started" HELP!!!?!?!

Hi all,
I am new PSP user,and I just read all the comments,
my PSP is 2.81 with mb TA-82 and i have UMD of Pro Evolution Soccer with FW 2.0 update.
Can I used it to downgrade my FW to 1.5 instated of using GTA ?

No. Has to be GTA upatched. The 2.0 update does nothing except shows you that it's unpatched.
You can also use luminus to downgrade now. But all Luminus has been recalled, so might be hard to obtain one now.
#1: 2.81 -> 3.03 -> 3.11 DoH (no more :D)
