Yeah, you could try to fix it...That would make a good project for you, and you can learn the inner workings of the PSP..Either that, or sell it for parts to recoup some of your money and put it towards a new one..

Dude, I don't think it's the LCD. When you turn it on, if you didn't hear anything (bootup sound), then it's a brick. Not a simple LCD. I don't want you to spend another $50 just to find out it's not working. A new psp is only $170 now, and is going down to $129 in 2 months or so. I think you should reconsider.

Brick happens when you have a corruption in the internal memory of you psp. The files psp needs to boot up properly (flash0) might be damaged somehow. It's like your operating system for you pc got corrupted. Changing the display wouldn't do anything.

I am still wondering how he would have managed to brick his PSP with non-custom firmware just by adding some pictures to it...Very strange indeed.

Maybe the original firmeware flash by sony was faulty... I really have no idea. A hardware problem also can't be ruled out.

no i can assure you it wasnt porn but the v2.60 that is on my psp waz like installed or whatever by one of the games i had before and alley even if someone did put porn that cant be the reson
that your psp would just be corrupted or that you would have problems with it
but they were just car pictures i dont see how that could make problems ike this for it
is it possible that if i had a virus on my computr ...that it traveled 2 my psp???
but nontheless its the strangest problem with a psp that ive ever heard of or seen

I agree, that is odd...I doubt that you would get a virus from your computer as the PSP cannot run executable files (.exe)-Like blackvamp said, you must either had a bad firmware update from that game, or from sony, or it is something hardware related..

ya it has to be hardware related because the update worked ok and it was a long time ago like a couple months that i let the update come on to my psp and since then evrything was ok until now
i havnt done anithing wrong with it other than dropping it like the first month i had it but that was like a year ago so that cant be the problem now
there has to be something wrong with it thats inside of it
maybe a piece of something fell off or broke in it? but i wouldnt have any way of telling or knowing since im not the developer
i would really like to know what the problem is but its unlikely that i'll ever find out
this is like one in a million chance o a psp malfunction and not being able to know whats wrong with it

Since it's couple of years old, sony won't fix it for you for free. You can open it up and see if it's something obvious, or take it to a repair shop.

I seriously doubt the Geek Squad at Best Buy will be able to sort out your issue-You might want to look into a specialty shop, or a Sony authorized repair center in your area..It may require some googling on your part, but I am sure you will have better luck going that route.
