no, if you have custom firmware then you can transfer your existing PS1 games on your PSP, if not then you have to buy the games off of the PS3

i just wanna know which firmware do i need to play ps1 games on my psp... i have a 2.81 firmware but the ps1 games i downloaded are not gonna work on it.. i would be really thankfull if someone tells me which firmware do i need and how to get it from my 2.81 thnaks :)

You need custom firmware to run PS1 games on your PSP. Downgrade to 1.5 and upgrade to 3.52M33. You can use the 3.50 downgrader, you need a copy of the game Lumines.

ohh well the thing is, my friend just gave me his GTA LCD to do it.. but everytime i look for an upgrader to get my 2.81 to 3.03 it says is for TA-082 motherboards and my motherboard is TA=081 (the code is on the left side of the mother board) so i would like to know if enyone knows a safe way to update my TA-081 2.81 to a 3.03 so later i can downgrade it to 1.50,, thank you so much.. im sorry but i just got my psp like few weeks ago and i really wanna play ff7 on it thnx again..

when i tried to play a ps1 game on my psp it said that i needed to activate the system, what does that mean? mines 3.50

you need to downgrade using the 3.50 downgrader or Pandora's Battery
