I think you're confused... The slim and the fat can't be exactly the same dimensions. The slim is really:
6.65353 in x 2.795269 in x .748 in. and not
6.7 in (W) x .9 in (H) x 2.9 in (D)
Btw, the height and depth are switched in your data set.
[EDIT: After thinking it through, I can see it from your data set's perspective, as if the PSP is on it's back. In which case, my data is flipped and not yours.]
The slim is 0.418 lbs, not .62 lbs.
The slim also has a video output, not mentioned in either of your data sets.
Even though the sizes aren't much different, they are different. Wherever you got your info is not a reliable source.

I owned BOTH the FAT and SLIM from release day imported from Japan - I can tell you guys that anyone with FAT PSP will be missing out because...
1) Twice the Flash RAM so many of the new firmware features are SLIM only. (like the upcoming SKYPE support)
http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=178720
2) Twice the internal RAM, so homebrew emulators and games have more RAM to play with.
Yes, there are down points...
1) No Infra-red, but who cares - no one used it anyhow!
2) No 1.5 homebrew, but most homebrew is 3.XX compatible now in any case...
The slim feels so much lighter it's like when NIKE added air-soles!
Not like any of this matters, as CFW hackers have already theorised that there will be a THIRD PSP model in the future...maybe...

Ah, okay - it's an unwritten (or maybe written, dunno?) posting rule.
Just some random Googling brought me here and I was bored...
