People who have downloaded from the same source I did reported that they had no problems.
I just upgraded to 3.71 M33-2, and am using the Sony NO UMD setting.
When I select Renegade Squadron from the Games menu, the PSP logo shows up, then it just turns black and freezes; I have to exit by pressing the Select button.
Try this then, go to recovery mode, registry hacks and change the enter key to X instead of the default O.
Also make sure that the region settings are disabled.
I cannot think of anything else that will help you solve your problem.
As for the CPU speed and cache values, I set them as default.
One more thing, try and delete any previous saved data and start afresh....and make sure you do a real shutdown (hold longer) and not on standby (quick off).
I CAN CONFIRM! Battlefront doesnt seem to work on 3.4oe-a....i have tried this on my fat PSP and my bro's fat PSP both running 3.4oe-a....then i happened to have my girlfriends brand new slim handy which is running 3.60 M33...n it runs perfectly :D:D....so id say an update would be on the cards if you wanna play the game :)

Hie guys can u help me out please, im havin the same problem with this game,. Im currently on 3.90M33-2 and not working, i have changed the mode np9660, cpu default, regions disabled but no change can someone help>>

Set CPU speed to 300MHz or 333MHz, if that doesn't work, try a different rip.
Just saying though, i wouldn't use NP9660 as there are a couple of problems with it past 3.71, use either the M33 Driver, or UMD Required.
