yes this has happened to me. mean your battery was taken out and that the info is a bit wacked. id suggest you save everything and either format your Wii or delete the voting channle and download it again!
how is the Weather or New channle for you? updates fine?
and you are just being a bit paranoid! ;)

Take off your tin foil hat and just update it. It's safe unless wee say so.

To fix the EVC problem, just delete the data.

Same thing here. You can switch your country, go back to Everybody votes and start a new profile. Then pick your real country and do the same. You will, unfortunately, lose your old data but the channel will work fine now. At least you don't have to format the rest of the wii.

I am going to install a WiiKey into an original (first shipped) Wii which has 2.0U. Is there any difference whether I upgrade the firmware before installing the wiikey or after I install the wiikey?
