I got a Sony battery from Best Buy about two days after the release of the Pandora's battery. By now though, most of the batteries have been patched so with those batteries, you can't create a Pandora's battery.
My PSP Firmware History: 2.60 had to return the PSP because it had a dead pixel > new PSP had firmware 2.71 > 1.5 > 3.52 M33 > 3.52 M33-4 > 3.71 M33 > 3.71 M33 with 1.50 kernel

Direct buy...
BUT I still argue, just like people selling ISOs or CSOs for money, that is not the purpose for this, the creators gave it for free, if they will know this will become a business they could have sold it for $10 each FIRMWARE update and the Unbricker for $20 so they could get money... I dont think is fair that their hard work should be used for someones elses benefit and NO the price of the memstick has dropped I got 2 512 MB for $10 each and the battery for pandora for $12... so make the math how much they are earning.
The developers get their money from donations-believe me they aren't hurting...Granted, these schmucks on ebay are probably not donating anything and are pocketing the profits for themselves...As far as the prices I quoted earlier-that is for retail, ie: if you physically went into a store and bought a battery at wal-mart or the like-its $38-memory sticks vary in price, but average at $20..I doubt you would get a new official battery for any less than that.
I agree with Joshewah a couple of posts up..If someone doesnt have the means to make their own, why not use eBay?..Its not like sellers are just charging for the pandora setup-they are getting actual physical goods..Its reasonably priced,(about what you would pay for a new battery and memory stick)-and its preloaded with what you need...How is that not convenient?
Now, people selling ISO's for money is bullshit...Thats just plain piracy right there-and everyone loses in that game...Yet, people pay for the convenience of not having to sit and download torrent after torrent of ill-gotten games...Its again the Convenience Factor..
Well in fact after reading that, I have to agree, eventhough I got my Memories used from 2 pals, classified websites in my country... they had W810 cellphones and bought bigger cards... I got each for $10... I bought the battery from a friend... he runs a used games store and took away the battery from one of his employees (I know, but I bought it legally) for $10... I used only $20 and have an extra 512 memory which I am planning on using for a Magic Stick V1.
I understand that a lot of people dont have the means, I agree with that... but I still feel like they are overpricing the pandora, NOW that the batteries are PATCHED, the prices will go UP for the Pandora batteries and that will mean more money already knowing this fact...
I tried to buy 3 Mem sticks of 256 they went up to $30 the 3 of them, when they were at $5 on amazon.com... Anyways this is the way money moves... I do downgrades for free, to anyone that wants it here at home... but still, everyone has its own thoughts.
Another thing I noticed on eBay is that there are alot more people offering their services for unbricking/downgrading now that they have pandora...
Now, these are the people that should be ashamed of themselves-I have seen listings as high as $50(US) or more just to have their psp unbricked/downgraded. No battery, no memory stick-just ship your psp to someone and hope you get it back. I am willing to bet that these a-holes are definitely not making any contributions to the cause either...
-And just like you said as the older unpatched batteries become harder to come by, the prices for pandora-ready batteries are certainly going to go up..Thats supply and demand at its finest right there.
Dude, I have seen for people just sending a memory stick and battery to a seller and they get it return back converted to Magic Stick and Pandora Battery... holy I will do it just for the shipping costs back to them! I should offer that!
its not unfair. i had to go out and get a new $40 battery and now i dont want it so i think selling it in service mode isnt a bad deal (i didnt have to have it i just wanted to test it out =P)
